You have to remember that in radio, it is about pleasing as many as you can. If the jocks had that free-form music selection, the audience would be hearing what the jocks like, and not hearing what the jocks hate. The problem with this approach, is that the jock and the general listener base typically don't agree with each other. You can't program any station by jock's taste, and expect the station to survive.
Grant, believe me I agree with you about the 70's. The format is old, stale and burnt. KEOM needs to move on.
