Re: Let's wait 6 months/Rating Rant
Radio at one time used to follow the theory developed by John Nash “A Beautiful Mind”. It’s seems that radio forgot how works along the way. Now instead of everyone getting a date for the night. They all go home empty-handed. This market is wide for more formats, Modern AC, Classic Country, Acoustic Rock, 60’s-70’s based Oldies, FM-Talk, Triple AAA (don’t even count what Flinn did as a triple AAA, they had that station screwed up from day one). I remember one GM telling me Oldies or Triple AAA won’t work here because it’s been tried and failed. Don’t blame it on the format. WOTO must have had a playlist of 300 songs, they burnt the hell out of every song they played, no wonder it failed. I heard the same songs over and over again. And “The Pig” was never in the ballpark musically. I will say one thing about the Jack format. It reminds me of SUCCESSFUL small market stations that have a wide playlist with proper flow and mix.
