DALLAS *AND* FT. WORTH

By that same logic the Dallas Morning News daily circulation has now dropped to just over 335,000 and the Dallas side holds roughly 4 million people.
Which, along with their demographics is why the newspaper is in trouble. KRLD's audience is overhwlmingly 55+. Be interesting to see what the average age of a DMN subscriber is.

Really is it a bad thing to have the "older"people listen to your station.. read your newspaper? We have salaries not allowances and we buy stuff. But, keep hoping for 18-25s who need stuff.

Most ad agency accounts do not buy 55+, and while there is more print targeted at seniors, there is essentially no radio revenue at that level for older listeners. Stations that are purely 55+ have to get local, direct accounts... which have a set of issues ranging from lower rates to a more difficult collection situation. It can be done, but it's harder in the large markets where most business is transactional.
