Date set for Houston Radio Reunion!

Several people not on your list, Rowdy, have signed up for the newsletter on the website www.lifeafterradio.blogspot.com. I'll send another newsletter sometime this week to remind them they need to RSVP if they're coming.

In case you don't check here often, the newsletter will have updates from Rowdy and others about the event sent right to your email.

I know I've asked for my ever changing weekend schedule to change so I can attend. I think everyone at KILT is coming...so I hope we find someone to switch with me! It would suck to be part of the organization and not attend.
 
Any chance we can get "aunti-terrestrial" there? And I'd love to meet "truthsayer." "purpledevil" can you be there? I'll drop by Jim Pruett's gunshop and maybe if I buy something he'll come. Oh, and "kendromedia," can we count on you? Any chance, "radio chik?" I think it would be hilarious if "mediafrog" showed up and actually identified himself. JD, where are you? Too long a drive? I'm sure it would be too long a drive for my old mentor, Joe Ford, huh Joe? And who is this guy with the screen name "andy waldrop?" (A little humor, there, Andy...) Gosh, you're sweet. My kiddo has her music and voice lessons on Sundays, though, so that comes first in our lives.

As you can see, the list gets longer everyday with word of the Houston Radio Reunion getting out. Do not hesitate! E-mail me your RSVP's if you are thinking about coming [email protected]. Be sure to check the BLOG every day for the updated list of names.

A few out of towners have asked about hotel and motel accommodations near Tin Hall. There is a new Courtyard by Marriott right on the corner of 290 and Huffmeister, and there is a La Quinta directly across from it at the same intersection.

Please send me your memorable photographs. If you've got em, scan 'em and send 'em to me. We want to try and have some sort of a SHORT multimedia presentation if we can get enough stuff, so do not wait, get them to me, along with a description.

Kevin found a professional photographer to come out and take pictures of the event. You'll be able to get them from his website if you see anything you'd like to buy, and I contacted a professional videographer who specializes in radio reunions. I should hear from him soon.

A lot of questions have come in on "who is invited" or "is this just a KILT thing?"

This event is designed to be for ALL radio employees, past and present. If you contributed in any way to what came out of the speakers on a radio station in Houston, you are welcome.

Finally, I want to get back to the idea of an "Honoree" for the event. First off, do not worry, as we do not and WILL NOT have a long, drawn out, somber, sullen, presentation. I would rather see everyone drinking and having fun.

With that being said, I think it would be a nice gesture to recognize the hard work, dedication, longevity and gifts to the industry and market that somebody contributed. It does not matter of it was a jock, sales person, engineer, manager-whatever. If you have a suggestion of somebody deserving of recognition at our event, e-mail me.
