I told your brother this morning that you were going. He said, "Wow, I had to find out about that on the radio board." Steve is a great engineer. In the short time he has been here, he has made better use of the rubber bands and paper clips that keep us on the air. There is a lot more to accomplish, but he is working wonders getting it done.

I started in the BPT area while in high school, bouncing around local stations and at age 18-19 was asst CE of KLVI plus doing DJ work there in the top40 days.....later ended up working in the DFW market at ABC RN and ended up at KDMX and KEGL before the Borg took over (and I had worked for them before in Port Arthur).....then found myself back in Houston and now back in BPT (but only doing contract engineering in radio as well as freq coordination....I got a REAL job doing IT and get paid better and my 401K look a hell of a lot better
Did I enjoy the years in Dallas ? yep....would I do it again? Nope...not NOW!!! 20-40 yrs ago when it WAS fun?? yep.....I felt honored to walk the halls at the mighty 1190 and to take care of that historic site......but with companies and management as they are now, I'll take what I do now anyday..hmmm company van, PCs galore, cover SE TX and SW LA and other places when needed (just went to Longview last week for a server change and voicemail install....and all on the company MC)...and the 401 pays 1.25 for every 1.00 I put in??? CC never came close!! and while in Houston the 2nd time, there was NO 401 match at one company....and no raises either for 3 years...and I never get called at 3am anymore...whew!

EDIT: BEST thing that I got from DFW, my companion and faithful "puppy" who walked up on me at the 1190 day site while working with a Bell tech putting a new 8K circuit in....he is now 8 and I wouldnt trade him for anything....besides 90lbs of Rott Shepherd makes the best security system I have ever had.....except when it comes to shots, medicine, etc but thank GAWD he doesnt eat that much IF I had found the lawyer (in Houston) that I did find through a fellow ex CC employee only 2 years earlier, I wouldnt have to be working period and would have owned half of Cheap Channel (but then WHY WOULD I???) AS WELL as some of Boston Beer company since CC implicated them in my termination (which TX Workforce said was BS and I got unemployment...big whoop!).....hmmmm now some of Sam Adams I could go for!!
