95.1 does seem like there is a chance it could go since reggaeton was behind their reason for existence and that phase ended super quick, but then again they might be smart enough to evolve.....
I can't believe I actually said "might be". That's like me saying today that Obama might be the next President-elect. 95.1 has ALREADY SHOWN that they are smart enough to evolve because they've done so, which is a more accurate way of saying it.

POWER, JAMZ, KISS - LOOKING AT THINGS FROM A FAIR AND BALANCED POINT OF VIEW:
Out of all, the only station(s) (within the rhythmic/top 40 rhythmic category) that has proven themselves is KKFR Power 98.3. I would have to say even more so than KZZP because Power has maintained a more steady format over a longer period of time, despite the fact that certain specialty shows and syndication's have been changed throughout the years. When you really think about it, Power is the most trustworthy one, and if it were up to me to make a logical, fair and balanced decision on who should go first, I'd keep in mind which stations have proven themselves over time. After all, I grew up mostly with Power, and they've been around long enough for me to say that they are actually the basis on which my interest in radio began. 103.9 KPTY and a few stations in California may have perfected my interest and fascination, but even some of those stations didn't outlast Power by maintaining an overall steady format for a longer period of time, and in the end, I always returned to Power.
If anything, it would most likely be safer to somehow, some way, shift Power to a stronger signal than it would to wipe out Power and have something else take over. Logically, that would be the safest way to assure a higher possibility of success when it comes to any format similar to Power. Yes, I do believe we need JamZ and we definitely need Kiss, and maybe I might prefer the JamZ sound when it comes to music selection and on-air talkers if I had to choose between JamZ and Power, but that's based on emotion. The REALITY of the entire situation is that Power is the leader when it comes to consistency, music wise, and they are pretty much the only ones who have really proven themselves in the long run. Not only does Power outlast most (all) of their competition, but they also maintain an acceptable place in ratings, despite the fact that unexpected circumstances arise and there is more competition existing with stronger signal output. Something is being done the right way for this to happen.
If it were completely up to me, putting all emotion and biases aside, I would pick Power 98.3 out of all if I had to choose one station to stick around or replace another. However, I believe we need JamZ to a certain extent because they are that one station who will play certain rhythmic hits that other stations wont touch or keep, such as "boyfriend/girlfriend" by C-Side. Whether or not it's highly obvious to the public, JamZ does fill in a gap in valley radio to some degree. My opinion? All three stations should be kept because without one of them, things would be incomplete. But in reality, KZZP and KKFR would be the logical choice to make if the decision had to be made with now, today...
That's my view on the situation looking at things realistically, but this does not mean that in given time that JamZ couldn't maintain the same success business-wise if given a chance. This, out of all that I've posted within this section of this forum, is the MOST logical and sensible way of looking at things regarding this issue, based on the facts.
