did KIM flip again?

I don't know Deb Dockery personally but she was nice enough to wish me well on starting my radio career again. Deb was at Kix 106 for a little while. She has come back home to Memphis. Deb has a great voice and the few times I heard her had something to say and did not sound fake to me. Before non radio people start talking about people in radio they should try a day on the air and see what it's like. It's not always as easy as people think it is. Deb and Tom are pro's and KIM is lucky to have them. Now they need a morning show. I vote for Steve Conley for that gig. He just needs a good partner.
 
Personal opinions mean something only when they're supportable. "She sounds so fake, y'all" only has meaning when the author knows what a professional personality sounds like. Deb, by the way, is a professional personality, and one of the best in the area--and I can say that with some meaning because I'm a big-time, super-cool, multi-talented, award-winning radio genius.

Ahem... ::)

And for those who aren't sure she's a nice person, let's just say that she wouldn't stoop to making the same remark about you, so she certainly doesn't deserve it from you.

More indication that "BB" has no idea who he's talking about.
To imply that I wasn't very nice...could be true from time to time...
But to imply that about Deb is entirely incorrect.
Proof positive that he doesn't know her.

Where it is obvious you don't know the first thing about Ms. Dockery, it's also becoming obvious that you just don't know the first thing... about anything. I have nothing but nice things to say about Deb...but try as I might, I can't come up with one nice thing for either one of you.

DD is an accomplished radio vet and ultimate pro. She used to post on this board under Country Momma. Oops.....hope I didn't spill the beans on you Deb.

??? OK People! Was my post malicious??? Heck no! You are right. I DON'T know her as I stated. Did I not say I'm sure she's a nice person? Yes I did. You all having personal knowledge of her is great. So, she is indeed a nice person. You are right that I don't know what it's like to be on air like her. True. But, I am the listener so, isn't she suppose to be speaking to me??? So, I guess it really doesn't matter what the listener thinks after all.. according to you people. When you know someone it's a lot harder to give them constructive criticism even if you know it's needed. So, give me a break people. What the hell is wrong with honesty when it's not meant in a bad way. You all need to get over yourselves. I hope she took it to heart and that comment will help her coming from someone objective that doesn't have the bias of knowing her. OK! So don't group me in with that Bogus Boy Jealous Boy crap. His was a slam. Mine was not! :eek:
 
Power 99 was the biggest disaster in the building. To think, management thought it was going to number one in the city the day they launched it. They blew up a good format for that crap. As if Memphis needed ANOTHER rap station...

And that's been hashed out a million times or so. ;D
 
Take it easy junkieoradio. Maybe you need a couple of beers to unwind with, after that rant. Nothing is wrong with honesty. There are alot of honest observations and opinions on this board. Yes, we are talking to the listener when we crack open the mic. That's why we are there to entertain and inform you. Remember everyone has a bad day sometimes, even radio personalities. Maybe you should listen to Deb another time and see if that might have been the case. Anyway, no one is saying you have to like Deb. There are jocks I don't like. That's fine if you want to give your opinion of someone or something but don't be so harsh about it. Don't you think it's nice though that we stick up for each other in the industry, even when we compete with each other? Oh, and Deb does read this board.

Yes, they did. They've blown up two good formats there. 98.9 and 98.1. They may have redeemed themselves to an extent with Kim. Time will tell...but I'm not going to say anything negative now...

Interesting posts from some very esteemed current and former radio people. But whatever format KIM happens to be, in what ever incarnation it might evolve, they will have a difficult time imprinting with the diary keepers of the market.

Check out the latest in-tabs, and hope that PPM arrives in this town soon enough to save some jobs.

Well, this was such a touchy, feely post... :) :) :) :)...and we're a bunch of smart---- on this board.
 
Ok I'm not really a touchy feely person. Im a huge smart ass. I was just trying to be nice. From now on i'll go ahead and be the smart ass i am. Anyway gotta go now.
