TWC lost a lot of people when they took that 90 degree turn into Global Warming Activism.

By jumping into that fray and taking a side, I have no doubt that TWC alienated at least some viewers. But, as said before, we'll probably never know how many cut back on viewing for that reason alone. After all, there are so many other reasons not to watch.... :
BAck to the subject at hand....how can we see this new weather channel if we are not on Dish? Are they streaming it somewhere? I wanna see it.
You're not missing anything worth losing sleep over. The actual product so far is mostly hours-hold observations peppered with CNN news stories in STRETCHOVISION!!! (That's a Cardinal Sin!). They've actually run warnings that had Expired at least three hours earlier. Video quality is crap (at least in SD - can't speak for HD).

Dish has added Weather Cast but so far had not dropped TWC. They are side by side on the lineup. It is a work in progress. Does look like "old school" TWC. I don't like the reality shows, political posturing and movies. So far this year they've done well with the severe outbreaks even preempting the shows.

some observations on this channel from a friend who has Dish Network:
- technically horrible
- picture seems out of focus
- graphics are cheesy and straight out of the 1980's
- presenters are rank amateurs who can't even spit out their lines
- would not compare favorably to the production values of any reasonably
competent high school A/V class
- if you are gonna have all that going against you, at least you could
load it up with good looking women (and fix the focus on that camera!)

Don't be so sure. Dish was in a position of power. TWC instantly losing 18 million eyeballs would have been a HUGE hit. TWC was rather arrogant in suggesting Dish didn't want to pay "industry standard carriage fees". Let's face it, TWC is not ESPN, Fox News, or MTV. As suggested earlier, NBCU overpaid for TWC & saw this as an opportunity to recoup.
I also now hear that CNBC will be showing Friday night movies, starting in June. Maybe...just maybe, the movies will be leaving TWC?
18 million eyeballs is too great a number to ignore.....
