The oldies and 80's did some one share numbers, the talk and 70's did nothing and until recently the AAA did nothing.

Actually the Oldies did a 2.2 one book back before consolidation and all the move-ins. I think the 80's peaked at a 1.9 in 2002. Not bad for a signal you can't hear much past Farragut.

Are you saying the original West 105 wasn't AC?
That's not what I remember...

Problem with Horne is, they've been there and done everything 3 times or more already They have constantly changed and moved formats around every month or two on their stations. They are like Forrest Gump; you never know what you're going to get. I used to like their talk station several years ago (back when Walker Johnson was on in the mornings and they simulcasted on 105.3), but like everything else they do, they had to change it time and time again. They never give anything any time to work, but simply throw something up against the wall and if it doesn't work, they try something else next month. They don't seem to really know how radio works, and I really can't ever see them being any kind of serious player.

Back when i lived in East TN, WXST 105.3 was satellite oldies and their studio was up in Farragut by cracker barrell. I am sure that is not the case now since Horne got ahold of this little station. Back then, 105.3 reached pretty much all over Knoxville. There was an idea one time of selling 105.3 to WSEV in Sevierville and simulcasting their 105.5 on 105.3 so that their programming could reach all over Knoxville. I think even now that would be a better idea than letting Horne keep it and keep on running it into the ground with format after format. And also, can I add that when I was down there recently...I listened to this so-called "WE PLAY IT ALL" crap that 105.3 had on and it sounded like total garbage. At least Citadel's the River (which is no longer around) knew how to program the AAA format to appeal to people. Just my ideas guys. But it would be cool to let one of the little outlying stations have 105.3 as kind of a booster station.
