Early TV Crushes

Forgive me if this has been asked before, but I haven't been at R-I for very long.

Who were your early TV crushes? Who broke your adolescent heart? What shows did you watch only because you were crazy about this one girl or woman in the cast? Who made your youthful self crazy? Some of mine were:

Maureen Arthur, the curvacious assistant on the original Treasure Hunt, hosted by Jan Murray.

Dorothy Provine, the knockout flapper girl on The Roaring Twenties.

Jill Townsend, the sweet-natured British heartstopper Dulcy Coopersmith on Cimarron Strip.

Connie Hines, Wilbur's wife on Mister Ed.

Phyllis Kirk, Nora Charles on the TV version of The Thin Man.

Gloria Winters, Penny on Sky King.

Noreen Corcoran, the niece on Bachelor Father.

Angela Cartwright, Penny on Lost in Space.

Jerilyn Stapleton, aka Jeri Lyn, dancer on Where the Action is.

Name unknown, blonde, bespecled woman dancing in a late 50s Bon Ami commercial. (Funny I still remember that all these years later. Wish I could find video of it. She was a hottie.)

They all made me crazy, and I love them for it.

I second Bertinelli and Dawber. Jennie Piccolo? Eeeeewwwwww!! ;D

Dawn Wells / Mary Ann (sorry Ginger!)
Catherine Bach / Daisy Duke
Kate Jackson, Farah Fawcett-Majors, Jaclyn Smith, Cheryl Ladd (!!) / Charlie's Angels
Lauren Tewes / Julie McCoy (The Love Boat)

Morticia Addams -Carolyn Jones. Guess I am just a sick puppy.

I Second that Emotion for Valerie Bertinelli and Jan Smithers. My childhood crush (below 10 years old) was Annette Funicello (unbeknownst to me at the time, I was watching 8-10 year-old reruns of the Mickey Mouse Club...and I was shocked to learn that my beloved Annette was really a woman in her 20s making beach blanket movies!).

Pretty much all of the "recent" above-mentioned (the ones mentioned in the first post are a bit before my time) plus, in no particular order:

-the female Solid Gold dancers (especially Darcelle!)
-the rest of the Charlie's Angels (Tanya Rogers, even Shelley Hack)
-Erin Moran (Happy Days...once she developed ;D )
-Kim Richards (Escape to Witch Mountain;played Ruthie on Hello, Larry with Mclean Stevenson)
**Trivia fact: Kim's sister Kathy is Paris and Nicky Hilton's mother**
-Christina Applegate
-Melissa Sue Anderson (Mary on Little House on the Prairie)
-Randi Oakes (CHiPs)
-Connie Sellecca (Hotel, Greatest American Hero.....John Tesh is such a lucky bastard!!)
-Susan Dey (from her LA Law days)
-Veronica Hamel (Joyce Davenport on Hill Street Blues)
-Olivia Newton-John (Ok, I first fell in love with her in 1978 in the movie Grease but she's been on tv as well....dont forget her incredible appearance on Solid Gold in 1981 doing "Physical"...OH MY GOD!!...it's on YouTube) http://youtube.com/watch?v=47h4MV6U5p0

Give me some time, I'll think of some others. :D

In my early teens I had lots of crushes..On top of my list was:

Maureen McCormick ---MARCIA MARCIA MARCIA!

In my late teens and through my twenties:

Olivia Newton-John...she sings like an angel..remember her singing "If Not For You" and "Let Me Be There" on NBC's "Midnight Special" I absolutely dig Liv!

And my pre teens?
Lesley Gore!

I'd agree with several already listed: Angela Cartwright (In seeing recent Lost in Space reruns on ALN, that definitely brought memories! ;D ), Dawn Wells, Maureen McCormick, Jan Smithers, and Pam Dawber. The most recent would probably be Helen Hunt in Mad About You. I always tended to prefer the cute girls and women over the glamorous or sexy ones.

I just happened to think I'm surprised nobody mentioned Mary Tyler Moore yet. I'll have to admit that happened as I got older in watching reruns of Dick Van dyke and her own show. ;D

I guy I knew growing up confessed that at as a kid he had a crush on Shirley Temple only to find out that her movies were 30+ years old at the time and she was WAY too old for him by that time! ;D

My childhood TV crush was Tiffany Brissette, who played Vicki the Robot on Small Wonder (but it was much more on her character than on Tiffany herself).

I need to add Nicole Eggert most especially from her Charles in Charge days. How'd Scott Baio keep his hands off her??

OOOPS!! Did I say that out loud?? ;D

Speaking of Baywatch, which I wasn't but Nicole eventually went there, I'd like to add Yasmine Bleeth.

And Angie Harmon from Baywatch Nights. That Hasselbeck quarterback guy is one lucky bastard!! Angie has some new chick show but I havent seen it yet.

Glad to know someone else out there also watched Baywatch Nights ;) Her new show is called Women's Murder Club but if you really want to see her again just turn on TNT sometime, if you know what I mean...

Uhhhhhh.....What DO you mean?? ???

It seems I have a few years on many of the responses in this thread, but I figured I'd chime in with my 2/100 of a dollar:

Meredith Macrae as Billie Jo Bradley on Petticoat Junction (I was sadden to hear of her death back in 2000)

Tina Cole, who played Katie on My Three Sons (she was also in "The King Family" musical specials - remember those?)

Karen Valentine on Room 222, also appearing on many other shows like Love American Style and wayy too many others to count.

In later years there were some other females who caught my eye on the tube:

Liz and Jean Sagal from the 80's show Double Trouble (sisters of Married With Children co-star Katy Sagal)

Jan Smithers of WKRP Fan (Who says woman with glasses don't get passes?)

I know there are many more but I just can't think of them at the moment.

Cynthia Pepper who starred in the 1961-62 series "Margie" on ABC-TV. Prior to that, she played the next-door girl friend in the first year (1960-61) of "My Three Sons". Most remember her from the Elvis Presley movie "Kissin' Cousins", but I will defenitely take her from the earlier two TV series mentioned.

Angie Harmon is married to Jason Sehorn, ex-NY Giants. I always thought Kristy McNichol was pretty cute

A lot of good mentions here, but I am shocked that one is missing: Wonder Woman!! Lynda Carter was soooo hot back during the original series. WOW!

Many cuties from TV caught my eye as a kid, but WW was on a different level!

Jan Smithers of WKRP Fan (Who says woman with glasses don't get passes?)
I remember having discussions about that in school, or more specifically, Bailey vs. Jennifer (Loni Anderson). The prevailing thought was that Jennifer seemed fake and unapproachable, while Bailey seemed more real. In other words, us normal Joes might actually have a shot at Bailey.

Somewhat on the same level of Ginger verses Mary Ann on Gilligan's Island.

Gotta add JoAnna Cameron who played Isis on the 70s Saturday morning superhero show. ;D
