Easy 93.1 seems to be official folks....or is it?

Has anyone noticed any other changes in the market? I'm curious if Coast has adjusted their playlist now that their "sister" station is very soft AC. Or, if anyone is a regular listener to Lite FM, have they reacted yet?

And what about the speculation that 93.9 MIA was going to adjust their playlist when they got out of the Christmas music? Anyone see anything there?

Yeah, sounds pretty good. Remember when everyone ran from the "E" and "Z" calls? If you look at all the ads in newspapers, magazines and TV ... you see the future of radio and $$$. Cialis is just the tip of the iceberg.

I like the station voice...he sounds so mature. I love the music as well. The whole station is like taking a trip to a more civilized place and time.

The new voiceover guy seems to have a bit of an accent - either Euro or Caribbean based. It certainly is not the same person who voices the Dove.

The playlist reminds of that of the late Classy 92.1 in West Palm Beach.

I have noticed that Lite has been a tad softer the last few days. I do not see any changes on Coast.

WLYF is harder than it used to be when I lived there. They have gotten away from Manilow-Streisand-Diamond and are playing some Disco. The station has evolved nicely but it sounds so wrong to hear that on 101.5.

Nice to hear Easy play Sinatra's 'Summer Wind". Even the kids seem to like that one!

I still await hearing Bobby Vinton or Johnny Mathis, but they did play Engelbert yesterday.

The playlist seems to remind me of the old Easy 105 of 1984-85 (which became Hot 105), due to the Motown stuff I hear.

Funny, Easy sounds a lot better than the Coast. As usual Gary Williams doesn't know how to add music to the playlist on the Coast. Let's keep playing Timmy T and Jennifer Paige (Crush) everyday. Don't know how the Coast gets away with the ratings compared to MIA.

It's probably not so much Gary Williams as Cox corporate. Cox is known for not changing anything from keeping the same liners (including calling stations that have been around for years "the new") and little turnover in their music library.

But with all the criticisms I hear about the company I give Cox a lot of credit for making the bold move of flipping a station to the EASY format. I hope they do this in other markets as well if the opportunity presents itself.

I think it's a softer version of Majic. I like it, but there is too much James Taylor, Barry Manilow,
and Simon and Garfunkel. They should play some Bobby Vinton, as someone else here mentioned.

True, but they play much of the same artists always on new radiostations to let the listeners know what there core artists are, the whole collection of Air Supply songs also. After a couple of weeks there is more variety in the format, I guess.

Let's hope so. I've also heard Dan Fogelberg's Same Auld Lang Syne on there 3 times, and
I'm only tuning in sporadically. Of course, that may be because it's almost New Year's.

I've been listening online for the last couple of days and i've noticed, too, many songs being repeated within a short period of time. I heard Roberta Flack's "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" twice within a three hour period, and then heard it again the following morning when I happened to tune in again. The music sounds identical to that of "The Dove", but is being repeated much more often. I'm hoping the repetitiveness is just temporary and the playlist will be expanded soon, as I really enjoy the "classic soft AC" sound and hope it succeeds. As it is now, though, listener burnout will set in quickly.

I think the high "repeat" rate is pretty common for a format launch.
They'll have a lot of people sampling the station for the first time, and it's important to get the message across "HEY! This is the music we play!!"
The last thing you want is someone to tune in and hear something unfamiliar.
Over time, I'd expect them to stretch the playlist.

Just wondering if Easy has played any instrumentals yet....
