End of P&K????

What was so upsetting after Jagger came on board is that the whole lineup became redundant. As a wholly local talk show lineup with 3 shows back to back with a somewhat similar format, by the time Russ came on I only listen to about a third of it because they we rehashing the same ---- they had been talking about since 7am. Jagger stole P&K's thunder, and P&K were forced to create new content so they didn't flood out Russ' show. IMO.

I am twisted a bit, for the record, that P&K are out. I have lived in major markets in the USA, and when I moved back here in 2003 I was relieved to find a station that had a talk format that wasn't the same --------. It seems they are back on track to bring ---- radio to DFW.

I heard Pugs started something with RMS that Russ obviously finished.

This is just rumor but has anyone heard a story similar to this?

I have a hard time believing that one. From everything that I heard, it seemed like P&K respected Russ' position at the station and went out of their way to avoid conflict with him. But that is just from a listener perspective.
 
Someone throw Russ under the bus already. He's old and stale and sounds like a broken record.
 
Maybe they'll just throw the whole thing out and move the indie rock format they're running on HD2 over...
 
For the record, being promised something by management and getting screwed over is not referred to as "Greggo'd." It's called "Working in Radio." If you do it long enough, you're going to get screwed eventually. I'm afraid Greggo didn't corner the market on that.
And yes, just a little bitter.
 
Wow, twinkle sounds a bit bitter....getting this train back on track, we're not dicussing your issues at present, we're having a very decent dicussion concerning P&Ks future in this market.
 
I think I heard their last show, and I got the impression they were revolting :mad: because they got hand slapped for FCC violation. They were talking about "puppies" and would constantly keep saying "oops we can't say that" every time something sounded even remotely sexual :-* or foul ;). Oh well such is the state of the world, FCC=gestapo.

You were listening to "best of" show. That was after the Janet Jackson incident.
 
I can understand that things happen. People get fired/quit but i just want someone to announce it. Then I can feel like its a clean break. Right now I just feel like a friend has disappeared and we are all still looking for them. The radio spots are still going on for some things like the dogs but kelly is not on them. I am very angry with 1053. I think they have handled this rather poorly. I cant stand BDH's voice. Sorry BDH just not the show for me. I miss P&K and 1053 has F'ed up my day. Now i have to find other radio so I can stand being at work. If i listen to main stream radio i will hear the same songs over and over and over again. As much as I like Jagger and Russ i may just protest the whole station and pay for Sirius.

AHA!!!! Well fair enough. I kinda wish, that if they are running best of, they would at least, every time the break or roll back in, note that it's best of. I know they do it every so often, but unless they say something that dates the show, one would think it's live.

I read on Yahoo answers, someone floated the idea that it was all a Bit?? I do agree it seems kinda strange that none of their friends or associates is speaking about it on myspace or elswhere, seems really, really fishy!
 
I really didn't like P&K when I started listening to the station a few years back, but evetually I caught on and didn't absolutely hate the show.

But it's radio. This is what happens. As far as people wanting an official statement along the lines of "Pugs & Kelly will no longer be airing". they wouldn't do that. I'm sure Pugs and Kelly still have advertising contracts, so until those run out and they don't play the recorded spots anymore, we won't hear anything. That's just a thought though. I'm really not sure what's going on there.

Who knows what they'll do to fill the void though. Although I doubt this will happen based on the fact that I don't think Dan would leave the RMS, The Dan O'Malley Show may get moved to the 10-midnight slot and BDH could stay as the "permanent fill-in". Those are the only "talent" they have left to fill the spot unless they decide to grab a syndicated show.

Either way, you're probably not going to hear anything for a little while. With the way the other shows are avoiding it and no one wants to send out a release, we'll just have too put up with BDH as (hopefully only) a filler.

I agree 100%. Not-knowing has driven me to a radio message board for Pete's sake!
 
Well i will have to read what they said on here. I just cant listen to BDH. He seems like a nice enough guy. His program is not for me. If i listened to him all day i would be asleep drooling on my keyboard by 1 pm. I know i am probblay being way too serious about this but i cant help it.
 
OK people let's remember one thing. Most radio folks are under contractual obligation which includes prohibiting of discussing the operations of the station they work for. This is why you're not going to hear an official explanation on the station, or elsewhere.

Yeah it sucks, but c'est la vie.

That's how she deals with these kind of issues. Pugs simply tags along.

What about Shemp? Did he get whacked as well? Even though Kelly did him wrong, he was involved in the first lawsuit.
