End of P&K????

What's funny is it's been said previously that P&K tried to be political and Gavin crushed it, which must mean he's never awake for Jagger's show. I listen mainly because I like Dean, and Jagger is usually fairly on the money, but he and Jasmine can be so blindly one sided as far as their politics that it's obnoxious. I cringe every time there is the possibility of a political discussion coming because of this, not to mention how un-informed Jasmine can be about subjects, yet she pronounces her beliefs as if she has researched them as much as I believe Jagger really does.

Now all this being said, I sincerely believe that P&K tried their level best to conceal their political beliefs as much as possible and for good reason, it's a sure fire way to alienate your audience if your not careful. Regardless of if they did spout off at times, they in no way compare to the out right hackishness of the aforementioned show.
 
any ideas when Little Dick Hunter will be moved off the mid day fill in? God i hope it is soon. I really hate to watch the station fall apart like it has. Micromanagement is the downfall of any institution.
 
An idea would be to extend Jagger's show by an hour and see if Russ will come on an hour earlier only leaving a two or three hour window to fill, this way they can use that 2-3 hour spot as a petri dish of sorts to find a winning solution, then scale back Jagger and Russ if it works. ?????
 
Yeah, except Russ already can't start his show on time. They always have 10 or so minutes of re-runs. Maybe David Lee Roth will rise again! (Sorry...terrible, terrible joke, and not even funny).
 
Yeah good point, but he does sometimes get on a roll and want to extend his show past 7, so maybe his ego would allow him to start at 2pm for an extra hour to impress us all????

My question is how much longer are we all going to have to endure Leykis??? Holy crap what a beat down, what's funny is the people his show should appeal to, if they listen to him at all, will be out trying to get laid and not be listening to him in the time slot he's on???? :eek:

I think it would be nice to have the station just change formats altogather. I mean reall, who listens to the talk shows anymore. Russ is bland, jagger is having a hard time filling his time slot. maybe better quality would come in small snipits from both shows, peppered in between music. Whatever they do they need to shit can gavin, he is a worthless choad.
 
I will say, Gavin's attempt to sound upset when Russ picks on him has gotten old. I do still find some humor in stuff Russ says though, he's pretty quick.

Hell it can't hurt to try, just stick music on from 11-3pm, it would be an interesting experiment. BDH is kind of interesting , but not for 4 hours.
 
Eric has been BDH's only saving grace. I had grown to like the balance he brought to P&K's bantering, and at first I thought the whole divorce thing was a decoy to distract us from P&K's absence. But there was only so much they could do to exploit that whole situation (and yeah, Melissa was totally cheating). Now I just tolerate BDH's monotone droning and occasional dry wit. My highlight is now Eric's audio oddities...although, "get off the painkillers; cuz painkillers make you depressed" has gotten old. Does anyone have any painkillers?!?!?!
 
Several of the posters in this thread have been twisted at 105.3 for not saying why P&K are gone, but take a look at P&K's myspace pages. P&K aren't saying anything either although they have their own forum in those pages. Bottom line is that each party is probably bound by a non-disclosure agreement that protects P&K and the station from issuing inflammatory info in the heat of the moment that can get carried away. It's the way that we all have to be in today's litigious environment.

Leykis is HUGELY popular in Dallas. He's got the number one afternoon show in Los Angeles and his numbers in Dallas are really good.

If you recall when David Lee Roth was canned in Dallas, they were putting Dan and Tasos in the place and said that they were just filling in for the mornings. Pugs and Kelly were canned due to ratings, not due to a feud with Russ or Gavin. It's likely that they declined a format change which would explain the sudden cancellation and the "vacation" excuse.
 
If Gavin didn't spend so much time trying to be one of the on-air personalities and actually doing his job which is supposed to be program director, KLLI and KRLD would be doing better.
 
I wonder how much what they pay Jagger, Russ and JD has to do with it? I know they probably weren't making a ton of money, but it had to be more than BDH and O'Malley and every little cut helps. Their ratings couldn't be worse than the rest, the station as a whole is freakin 22nd!!! If Russ is the "juggernaught" he claims to be, wouldn't he at least pull them into the top 10? Or top 20? I can't listen anymore, I fly by to see if they are giving any info on P&K, but other than that, I hope Jack is playing a song I like, or it's KISS for gosh sakes! Someone please get The Ticket on FM that reaches DFW proper.
 
Just because I'm new I'll state my position. I think Pugs has a bad habit of taking his totally uninformed opinion and stating it as fact. He will often state something so boldly one day off the top of his head. With no facts. Then a week later claim he heard it from somewhere but can't remember where. A complete moron who should not be given forum to speak his weak mind. (You might be saying this about me too) Kelly is not as bad, but only because she does a show with Pugs. I truly feel for her sometimes. I admit I listen for irratainment.



Anyways, I caught this thread late, so I'm not sure if this has been addressed and I'm not going to read every post. But does anyone think this might have to do with JD taking a jab at Pugs and Kelly, and Pugs getting pissed and threatening JD. (I don't remember the exact quote from JD) I personally thought the JD comment was funny and blown out proportion by Russ. Russ threw fuel on the fire. I am not saying what Pugs said on the air was what got them fired but maybe something behind the scenes did. Perhaps Kelly's loyalty got her fired too. We are only left to speculate.

I don't think they got fired for ratings because Gavin would almost certainly have had a viable backup in place before he fired them. Certainly.......Not .......Biggggg.........Dickkkkkkkk..........Hunterrrrrr. God spit it out Dude, you do not have to filibuster. He sucks worse now than he did on the Ticket.

All, Just to make it clear...this had nothing to do with the Pugs/Russ/JD tiff. That was a bit that was replayed on Russ' "best of" while he was on vacation and P&K "supposedly" were too. I've seen a lot of posts alluding to that and it's just not true.
Something is going on but no one, especially not Russ, would have the power to have P&K yanked off the air in the middle of the week.
 
I am not insinuating that Russ has actively done anything. I am saying that it might be something, over the line that Pugs did. Maybe burned a bridge or two or threatened some action.

If you have some inside info please enlighten us. But as of right now I don't see as where you can totally dismiss this as a possibility.
 
A couple of things I have found interesting in regards to P & K, yesterday someone texted the Jagger show and said Where is P & K? Jagger said it will come out in time when the Lawyers say we can talk about and they quickly moved on...

Also on Justin Fosters myspace - www.myspace.com/justincomic he has an ad for a Birthday Party Blowout on July 19th for him and Pugs at Zen Austin Ranch.
 
Wow! Some of you are actually channelling that part of Pugs that knows EVERYTHING, when really, we're all just speculating. It's fun, though. Keep em' comin'! I'm still holding out that they're moving to Houston to accomodate Corporal Christi and Kelly's union. He's so dreamy!!!
