But doesn't the willingness and attitude of a lawsuit happy person invariably result in a plethora of lawsuits? If I have the willingness and attitude of a serial killer then it is reasonable to expect more than one body lying around.

I personally find some posters here to be goat rapists. Not by number, just willingness and attitude.
 
You want to know why people listen to talk radio? There is nothing else decent to listen to. All the other stations play lame ass music repeatedly. So what do we do while sitting in traffic? Listen to King Russ. Boy, it must be something to be so removed from regular society. He can't relate to anyone anymore and all he talks about is how great and rich he is. All the show is is him doing stupid stunts and his get along gang laughing and it's not even funny anymore. What was with the whole week of Amber? It was sooooo boring!!!!! He's such an old pervert.

Now. As for Pugs and Kelly.....

I listened to them for a long time. The thing is, they let the "fame" get to their head. Soon after they switched to mid-days they began dissing their fans in the chatroom. That was part of what made their show unique and interesting. Then, as someone posted earlier, it became NASCAR and sports and the longggggg commercial breaks. I don't care what Gavin said about timing the commercial breaks, every time I tuned into Pugs and Kelly they were on commercial. I think their downfall was that ultimatly they lost connection to their core listeners. I went from being someone who would go out of my way to listen to the show everyday to not listening in two years plus! I think that says a lot.

There isn't much to listen to on 105.3 anymore. Jagger is getting better, but Mando still sounds like that weird cat from those old cartoons. Thank God for MP3 compatible car stereos and NPR (i think).

If you were on a message board dedicated to philosophies of government in the 20th century you would. Message boards offer people opportunity to express their opinions on a given topic. When someone else disagrees and provides reasons why, you are allowed to provide reasons why in retort.

This is a DFW radio board. People are going to talk about DFW radio personalities they like and dislike. *shrug*
 
Personally, I liked Puggs okay. Kelly's dumb-chick act, real or not, was old and busted.
I met P&K at a couple of appearances. Pugs was fun and friendly. Kelly was a bit of a (w)itch.

BDH is okay, but he's obviously an intellectual type. Maybe Gavin should move him to KRLD.
He'd be a lot better than the intellectual void that is Earnie & Jay.
 
The VAST VAST majority of KRLD's audience is 45+. A majority (IIRC) is 55+, and there's a da*n big percentage of them that are 65+. The idea of putting Little Teddy Champion, uh, Big Dick Hunter, who's 40 but thinks he's 20 on that station is laughable.

I'm betting that an overwhelming majority of KRLD's audience have no idea who Joe Francis is, no idea who Dennis Hof is, and are offended at who those guys are, and therefore by extension, someone who claims to be their friend.

So unless Gavin is trying to kill of the KRLD audience as we know it, and recreate KRLD in a new, younger version of an all-news station, BDH is the LAST person you're ever going to hear on KRLD.
 
Since BDH took over for P&K, he's shown he can do "serious" material.

Dump the BIG moniker, the crappy bits and the laughing idiots from the roster, and I'd be willing to bet Richard Hunter cold pull off an informative show well worth listening to.

At his age and with his smarts, he's GOT to realize that he is starting to look like a poser with the goofy hats and too-tight t-shirts.
 
Joe Rogan was on Jagger the past couple mornings and something Mondo said as an offhand comment struck a cord for me ("You want a mid-day show?"). The guy really should host a talk show. For a self-professed, card carrying stoner, the dude is smart as a whip. Sure, I don't agree with all of the conspiracy theory stuff, but the way Rogan interacted with the guest Jagger had on made me think that the guy would do very well in a talk scenario. Though maybe with his celebrity, Rogan might be able to get a TV talk gig. Apparently his true talent was wasted on Fear Factor.
 
So, you guys have made a total of 14 post together, and you are going to complain about people ripping P&K? Hmmm, me thinks we have found some P&K family members... The truth is they weren't very good, and got fired, that is radio.. This is a radio forum for people to say what ever they want about radio topics... I Imagine if all we talked about in here was happy positive stuff it would be really boring. (BTW being negative about people being negative, is still being NEGATIVE)
 
You saying they weren't very good is your opinion. I feel they were a good show and apparantly so do others. And this whole thing going around saying they only had a show because they won a lawsuit? If that were the case, do you really think they would have been given a show in a market as big as Dallas? It hasn't been documented anywhere that that is the case and you are only going on here say.

Excuse me, but I "AM". I just don't bloat about it, because A. There is no real need to and B. because it looks like self promotion. I am only providing this info here to disprove your theory.
 
I believe they were not fired, an inside source told me that leaving in the matter that they did, was their choice. I do think they will be back, but it will be with another station, probably in another market. And with internet listening, they will be able to offer the opportunity to their listeners to follow them.

I enjoyed P&K's show as they were the Marilyn in the Muenster family over at 105.3. That being said, not everyone likes the normal one in the family.
 
Yeah, I bet there is a long line of atations trying to hire a show that had no ratings....
 
Also, the lawsuit that got them the job is a fact... The program director that was there when they went on from chicago at night is the person who told me about it. It was then verified to me by somebody close to the show. They didn't quit that job, they were fired, nobody in radio would quit that job knowing they have no ratings and a bad show a very little chance of landing anywhere else. No wait maybe Waco has an opening....
 
Seems there will probably be lots of "no comments" next week at KLLI. At least in my opinion.
