Eric Is Worse Than BDH

mrchris said:
When I read this I tought it was either Eric himself or someone associated with him. Cause honestly that is who would take the time to write something so long and take SUCH offence to what I said. A REAL RADIO PRO would have just been like well that dude hates me and moved on.

Eric isn't clever enough to create a "bash P&K so they don't know it's me" guise, let alone write like that. P&K got him to where he's at now to boot, and Eric being such an emo softy, I doubt he'd stab at them behind their backs like that, unless they dragged him into their parting drama? Out of any personalities on the station, I'd have to say 5515 comes off more as Trey; boring and to the long-winded point. I'm probably completely wrong, 5515 could possibly be mafia, but that response reads like Trey talks; tiresome accompanied by random EMPHASIS.

Very easy to throw darts from the sidelines. Interesting that your critique comes with no real issues. Fact is, mid days on LIVE have been weak for some time. Fact remains, Russ will not tolerate a quality show before his...because he will forever worry about being overshadowed. You will not see BDH in Mid days...my guess... I think you will find another P&Kish show with no real substance to it.

That would not be hard to do... ::)

Again, you guys show your radio knowledge. You're right, Russ, or anyone else for that matter, wouldn't want a strong lead in. Good Call and good thinking.

Thanks Capt. Obvious what would we do without you ::)

Probably run around the room screaming our heads off and slamming doors... :)

Oh, wait a minute...

Here is the point, Russ doesn't support anything at the station. He has never supported his lead in show(s). His audience is small but VERY loyal, he is on an island, but I digress. I still have yet to hear any show critiques. Very easy to say someone sucks, very hard to argue as to why?

Guess you have missed them. The dead air moments, the fake laughter, Russ constantly asking if it's time for a break, and recycled bits that are at least two years old, are critiques.

Sorry, my mistake...I know all that, and agree. I was referring to eric and bdh? I think the show is genuine, topical and interesting. That is why I listen.

Anybody that has ever listened to Russ knows one thing: he is absolutely terrified of NOT being the alpha male at the station. He has never leant one iota of support to any other show, nor has he ever remotely engaged in anything close to “team work”. Whenever a new show comes on, he makes it a point to spend a week’s worth of time running down the show and its hosts. He is scared of not being the focal point of the station. He used to go on and on about how much P&K sucked, and then the next week he would say that he has never heard a single minute of the P&K show. Which one is it? You can’t have it both ways. Whether he had heard the show or not (which, of course he had, his claim to of never heard it was of course another facade) one thing is for sure-he believes he can ensure his role as alpha male by running off any other competition, no matter how good or bad they are. His shtick concerning this is as transparent as it is pathetic. His loyal small group of listeners will automatically hate the new show and never give it a chance because Russ told them so. Ultimately he is shooting himself in the foot by not supporting any other show (O’Malley’s show doesn’t count. He was kind of nice about that show, but he absolutely slaughtered Tasso’s. If O’Malley wasn’t on Russ’ show, you can bet your boots that Russ would run their show into the ground) because that costs listeners. Gavin didn’t keep Russ in check, Russ and Gavin teamed up to run the station into the ground. Can’t wait to see what band-Aid they slap on midday’s to stop the hemorrhaging. Good luck with that, new guy. Congrats to BDH for getting the hell away from that sinking ship.

I thought we had covered that, also. The long-winded stories with no point. The emphasis on lowest common denominator topics; NASCAR, MMA, Girls Gone Wild, Ron Jeremy, F-List celebrity name dropping and interviews, etc. He is symptomatic of modern day media that keeps thrusting the likes of Paris Hilton into celebrity status.

As for Eric, granted an exceptional producer and all around great co-worker, does not bring anything to the show. His delivery is shoddy. All his content revolves around himself, how drunk he got the night before, the shenanigans that erupted while he was drunk, his divorce, his new stripper career, real audio segments of him emotionally torturing his then wife and other family members. The only time he isn't focused on himself is when he plays cringe-worthy 911 tapes. He may be a great guy but his life isn't so fabulous that I need to hear about it every day.

VERY WELL SAID...Russ is a tyrant...It's a shame that a man so talented is so ugly inside...

5515,

Hardwork and dedication have nothing to do with being on-air talent. Actual talent is required. If you want to be a producer those are fine traits, to be on air their are almost meaningless, especially if you suck on-air.

I also doubt Eric is/was more hard working than Sybil when she was there, yet she did not suck on the air.

I really, REALLY hope you are joking. You're saying getting on the air is easy? You're saying anyone can magically be successful in radio just buy walking up to any station and saying "I wann to be on your station every weekday, even though I have never set foot in a radio station before".

You are so on target. Has anyone ever asked why Russ won't let his show be syndicated? It's apparently been pitched to him but he won't let the show be syndicated. I believe he's afraid of failing. He's a big fish in a little pond here. Dallas is a large market but when you compare what Russ has accomplished compared to what someone like Stern accomplished...it's nothing.

Man. some of you people are incredible. I love the constant slamming of Big Dick's show. It's sooooo accurate.

Funny that he just got a national syndication deal with Rick Dees. Man. He must really suck bad, huh?

We were talking about Russ, not BDH. BDH will do well in syndication as long as he stays away from conversing too much with the giggling sidekicks, Turley and Eric.

Rick Dees - the guy who brought us "Disco Duck." Yeah, he specializes in quality entertainment.
