A Cub fan has the stones to say that?!?!?!?!?
Newsflash! Since the Cubs last won a World Series (1908), they've been in 7 of them and lost them all - all before 1945. Since 1908, the Sox have won one (1917), lost one (1959), and threw one (1919). And they're in another one now. The Cubs aren't.
Sorry, but baseball bragging rights in Chicago have been owned by the Sox more often than not, including now. Since divsion play began in 1969 the Sox have had more winning seasons (18 vs 12 for the Cubs) and both teams have the same number of playoff appearances (4 each).
And before that argument starts, who gives a flying crap how many people go to each ballpark other than the team owners? There are about as many true Cub fans as true Sox fans. The rest of the sheep that go to Wrigley are the same bandwagonning drunken yuppies & suburbanoids that went to Comiskey Park in the '70s and followed Harry Caray to the north side. These are not true fans of either team. They just want to be seen going to where the action is. That action is now on the south side and many of them will start infesting USCellular Field now, unfortunately.
At least you seem like a good Cub fan. If you hate the Sox I can respect that. I'll never cheer for the Cubs but I respect good knowledgeable fans of any team. I'd rather talk (argue?) baseball with a real Cub fan than one of those useless bandwagonners.
And real Cub fans should quit whining about the Sox success and be all over the Tribune Company like flies on s### to get them to improve their own team. They spend but they don't spend wisely. Spending money for the sake of spending money doesn't work. Just ask George Steinbrenner.
Oh, by the way...GO SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D
