Fantastic word game

Visiting, bona fide dignitaries/prospective benefactors who are interested in our band camp are given the royal treatment which includes a musical presentation by the students upon arrival, an elegant feast with staff, volunteers, and students in the dining hall, and a guided tour lead by scanman1.

A guided tour led by scanman1 always includes the family package visit to the library, lounge, fun department, swimming hole and a final stop at Illusions before returning to the campground.

A final stop at Illusions before returning to the campground will give the campers a chance to drink the rest of the punch and the empty punch bowl will then be available for Jeff's mother to place on his head so she can give him a haircut.

The barber asked me, "Do you want your hair shorter?" I asked, "Can you make it longer?" He did not appreciate my sarcasm. By the way, there were four posts following the "dignitaries/benefactors" post on the previous page. Mister dmargalotti used the line again (above). He is one of the FWG elders and should be above reproach (which is a small town in Nebraska) so I think the council should conduct an investigation to ascertain the reason why dmargalotti did not maintain the requisite continuity of the posts. To borrow a line from Groucho, I'd horsewhip him if I had a horse.

A haircut will have to wait because I had to return to the office to begin the inquisition process regarding dmargalotti's complete mishandling of contribution continuity.

More than likely, he neglected to click right to the end or perhaps RD is having some old R-I type issues from the past. Whatever it may be, we'll get to the bottom of it. Mr. dmargalotti, please fill out the explanation form that I emailed to you and return it to me as soon as possible.

Every participant in the FWG or TFWG as I prefer knows I would never intentionally ignore clues and disrupt the accuracy and continuity of this fine game so I will let my reputation for exemplary performance speak for itself and blame all of this confusion of some unexplained technical snafu.

Hey Thomps, who you calling ELDER you whippersnapper you? :)

Some unexplained technical snafu has happened to me on at least more than one occasion, and since I cannot explain it, I just figure it is technical stuff that darth will deal with after lunch at the Mad Hatter's luncheon another day.

Another day brought another thousand dollars to Doris Day when she was at the height of her film career and had enough influence that she was able to insist that she work days but not nights.

Of course the lead singer of the Pips always worked the Knight shift. Mister dmargalotti, when I referred to you as an "elder," I thought you were a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. All their members are considered to be elders. I have since learned that you are not a Mormon so I retract the "elder" reference.

Mister WMC, do ya think he bought that?

Nights in shining armor are at least cooler than days in it, despite its capacity for highly polished reflections.

I "got" the George Brent reference all right, but didn't want to use it. As for the haircut, last time I went to The Scissors Hold, my barber asked me afterward if I wanted a product in my hair. I answered, "Yes, Kraft macaroni and cheese." I doubt they'll ask again.

Highly polished reflections can never really show the true inner beauty of someone like Olivia Newton-John.

Okay, Thomps. That's a bit of a stretch but I'm gonna let it go. This time. Buy me a drink at Illusions next weekend and we'll forget this whole ugly exchange ever happened.

Someone like Olivia Newton-John (Liv as she and I prefer on an intimate basis) is always welcome at band camp especially when she takes the time to serenade me and/or the kids with her biggest musical hits.

Please note that the last word is HITS with an H. Thank you. :D

Her biggest musical hits do not seem to include "Dancin'", which she performed with The Tubes, which just shows to go ya that 40s and late 70s-early 80s tunes can work out pretty groovy.

Now you can just get right back on track, young man.

Today while the blossoms still cling to the vine, I'll taste your strawberries, I'll drink your sweet wine, a million tomorrows shall all pass away, ere I forget all the joy that is mine today.

All the joy that is mine today includes knowing that we were already the age of our band campers and survived being the goody two shoes of a generation.

It wasn't pleasant, but we managed it well. And here we are some 40+ years later.... I am inclined to believe that King Solomon had it right: There is nothing new under the sun.

Good contributions to this year's annual Band Camp food drive would be such items as bread, wings, cream, sole, fatback, Kix, meat loaf, hot butter, black eyed peas, vanilla fudge and red hot chili peppers.

See what I did there? And if Korn had not deliberately misspelled their name, they could have been on that list.

Chili peppers are not my idea of a good food but give me a good steak and I'm totally down with that.

Great time at Illusions last night. Grand opening of the new Illusions next Saturday night. Tell your friends and family and bring them with you too.
