Fantastic word game

While they are sleeping someone apparently teaches them that the past tense of lead (pronounced leed) is lead (pronounced led), but the fantastic word that is the past tense is actually led, because if you make the past tense lead, you have been reading the periodic table of elements for element 82 which is Pb, and that tells you right there that lead (pronounced led) is not the past tense of lead (pronounced leed), but the proper past tense spelling is led, thank you very much.

Educational and just a bit long winded, it's almost as if Miss Silkie was briefly taken over by the spirit of our punnetry pal LARR/Thomps.

Not that that's a bad thing. :)

"The spirit of our punnetry pal LARR/Thomps" is a phrase that I, being a relative newcomer to the FWG, have no reference of who we are talking about.

Trouble down at Miss Silkie's Tasty Tidbits today as one of the ovens misfired and a large batch of chocolate chip cookies came out just a bit overdone.

Don't worry, Miss Silkie and the interns and the building itself are just fine. Thanks to PowerWorld Fire and Rescue and also HOSS scanman and his team for their help airing the place out. Fortunately, we have a spare oven in storage and we'll get that installed over the weekend.

Speaking of the weekend, it's the weekend. Which means it's time for CTListener's fave thing ever, the 80s Rockfest, via livestream from the new Illusions. Join us tomorrow night for a rockin' good time and join us later on in the early morning Sunday hours for breakfast with Kenny at Denny's.

ron, LARR (later known as Thomps) is a former contributor who was very good with the puns so that's the reference. I believe he was banned from Radio Discussions a couple of years ago following some unpleasantness with some people elsewhere on this site.

Have a great weekend!!

Flavor enhancements are sometimes used to make food products taste good but that's not needed with anything cooked up at the Tasty Tidbits because everything Miss Silkie and the lovely young library interns make is filled with love.

Thanks to everyone who joined the 80s Rockfest livestream last night and thanks to kenny for a delicious Denny's breakfast early this morning.
