Yes and I am hearing alot of adds from The mayor office . Hot 87.7 (Hot97Boston.com ) is here for a long time. While the big Boston Radio companies avoid the urban radio crowd, Hot 87.7 is making big bucks.Nick said:They must have made more than $10000 in ad revenue. Their signal's so strong that it was heard on e-skip in Florida.

Drug dealers make money too from providing an illegal service. The reason this station is making money is because they don't have to pay taxes, licensing fees or any of the other costs associated with running a legit radio station.

Schuyler said:It doesn't matter how much money they make --- they probably won't pay the fine.

There are repercussions if they don't pay. Maybe they'll get a lien on their house!

Maybe they'll get a lien on their house! Maybe they'll get their wages garnished (if there are any).
Maybe they'll get a freeze put on their bank accounts.

They probably won't pay, and any repercussions won't appear for years, if at all.
In order to collect, the FCC has to refer the case to the US attorney for the Boston area, who must then get a court order to garnishee wages or attach liens to assets. Those kinds of cases are so badly backed up in the courts that it will probably be years before those orders ever come down, if they ever do.
It only take a piece of paper to impose a fine. Collecting it is another matter entirely.

And nearly all of the violence associated with drugs is caused by the fact of illegality and would be avoided with more sensible laws.

Since NOBODY but them know whether they are actually making money or not, you have no reason to suppose the reason for their profits if there are any.
