Ok, today is Wednesday. The switch begins tomorrow morning at 12:01 A.M. Any final guesses or comments? I'm pumped up for this.

Yes.

I will guess you're going to be severely disappointed, but Cincinnati will be happy enough to wind up giving it a 4-share.

And they'll be happy to take what they can get out of Dayton, too.

Does anyone care that this maybe is the last day for "The Star" on 96.5? Well I care I am going to be listening at midnight to see if it is indeed the last day for "The Star" on 96.5 I an curious to know what the new format is going to be.

Yes. Hoping we do see something new @ 12 midnight on 96.5.
However, I'm not sure if it will happen exactly on 10/6 since a Cumulus V.P. stated to All Access that the new format would be revealed "before Halloween".
So, it could actually be anytime in October.
Stay tuned!

i think when they flipped Star over to 94.9 2 weeks ago if i recall right they said something like a couple weeks of simulcasting and ive listend to the star on WYGY's Web stream they been pluging make sure your presets are at 94.9 cuz you never know when you will wake up and something else would be on 96.5

probly bout 11:30 with my laptop ill put on the former Mojo 94.9 stream to check to see which stream happens to flip since you never know if they will just keep the star on the WYGY linked stream and change the former Mojo Stream over to the new 96.5 format

If I was going to listen to country music like I do seldom I would rather listen to "The Star" over "B105" anyday. But anyway not to get too off topic MikeStandardsFromIndiana from what you said it sounds like its really going to happen tonight the flip to the new format.

I seem to be the only adult in the thread.

I'll bow out and let you kids continue your online fantasy game. Is this what you guys call an "MMPORPG" or whatever? Nevermind. It's not important.

With just hours to go it can now be reported that 965 WPRV will be We're
Potato
Radio
Variety

A daring new format that features talk about everyone's favorite food! A similiar format that revolved around spinach had to be scrapped due to a staff infection! Here's the expected line-up....

6a-10a Spud Johnson and Tater Talk
10a-2p R Gratin and The French Fried Work Day
2p-7p Scalliwag Scallop's Ride Home
7p-12m Getting Down with Hashed Brown
12m-6a Baby Red's Mashed Talk

This should be an instant hit! ;)

Well at 12:02am on Thursday October 5, 2006 THe Star is Still on both Of the Streams of WPRV and WYGY so it looks like the flip aint gonna happen till at least 5am if there gonna hold off on it till morning Drive LOL

I am a kid. :). But, yes it is 6:11 A.M. on Thursday and the siumulcast is still going on. I am ready for Power 96.5 which I think it will be. Since I am in the Dayton area, i can hear 94 and 96 and they both are simulcasting. And what is this I hear about "The Stick"?

Well, I am kid at heart ;)...and just wanted to use one of these icons! Anyway, maybe I was confused on my presets this morning, but I believed I turned on 96.5 and it was still country, just 94.9 The Star...it seems as though they just switched the imaging for now.

If I am wrong on this, please let me know!

Yep...still simulcasting. Perhaps this weekend the stunting or whatever will begin? The 94.9 Star imaging has been going on for at least a few days. Not sure when exactly it started. As for top 40, that was my guess until the All Access report came out saying it would fill a "format hole"...for which top 40 is not a current hole in this market. Based on all their nationwide properties, Top 40 would seem to be the most logical, but who knows. I guess we will find out soon enough!

With all of the female stations in the market though, would Top 40 "really" make sense... I mean, we might not have a ture TOP 40, but with KISS and Q, and a splash of WIZ for the urban side, that young female demo seems to be eaten up...with WARM, MIX, Q, and MOJO it seems like th older demo is taken.

I am not an expert and don't claim to be, just like to throw around ideas, but wouldn't FM talk or a younger rock station, nothing like 97.3, make more sense to do...go after the younger male demo?

Just a thought here...

They may keep the simulcast going through Halloween, and then on November 1st, all Christmas until January 2nd.
