It's not a major mistake. It provided a new revenue generating FM station covering all of the bigger and richer market (Tampa Bay), while at the same time not sacrificing WKTK's targeted revenue areas of Gainesville and Ocala. Just because you could hear 98.5 from "K"oast To "K"oast, didn't mean they were selling ads in places like Cross City, Palatka, and Sanford. Sure... KTK's not the monster (signalwise) it once was, but Entercom made a nice profit by upgrading one and downgrading the other and then selling off the Tampa combo with 92.5.
