Okay, I have now seen some demo breakouts from the book. WRVR and FM 100 are still HUGE with Women. WMBZ was not. Entercom wants to dominate females, they do not want to just "go after" someone. That's why the Buzz is out of the format (and did not go Country). Plus WRVR and FM 100 are much better compliments to each other than WRVR and WMBZ were. It's just that simple. Think with a cluster vision. It's all about money. Also, if you look at demos, why wouldn't they look at flipping WRVR? The two stations are identical as far as their female numbers. It would be a coin flip.
Steve and Garner leaving is a sad thing, don't get me wrong. But, these cuts probably brought their expenses back to where they needed to be, and is more in line with what Entercom is used to as far as how they structure airstaffs, etc. Plus, if they we're blowing up FM 100, no one would have survived yesterday. Entercom would not be bringing Ron, Tom, Jill, Lance, et al, into the company, only to whack them. They are smarter than you. They would have told CBS that they weren't being hired in, so that Entercom wouldn't have to pay severance, etc.
