Approx signal range of 93.7:

93.7 and 98.5 are about 16 miles and 8 miles, respectively, from Beacon Hill. I would think most Walkmen
could pick up either station in diff. parts of Boston. A google map search shows that in Kenmore Sq,
you're about 8 miles or so from the 98.5 stick in Newton. You're saying a Walkman 8 miles from
98.5's stick can't pick it up? I would think most would.
Most people listen in cars (which I know from experience should pick up 93.7 or 98.5 fine), some at home,
some at work. I listen to 98.5 and 93.7 in N. Reading at work, one town away from the 93.7 stick admittedly, and both stations came in. If I were to, say, be transferred to the South Postal Annex
in Boston I'd suspect I could pick up both, also. On, say, an AM-FM Sony Walkman, or on the FM
part of a Sony Walkman mp3 player. Yes, they do have the 850 to help out (something which, for the
record, I can't pick up on the latter as it lacks AM...)
Anyone attending a C's or Sox game at TD Garden or Fenway and wants to hear it on the radio at the same time can probably pick up 93.7 on a Walkman. But as Dennis Miller says, "That's just my opinion--
hey, I could be wrong." Wondering if anyone else in the Boston area has problems picking up 93.7
or 98.5 in those areas.
If so, I'd hate to be someone in those neighborhoods out for a walk and wanting to hear the Pats
on 98.5 or the Sox on 93.7 (and again, some radios have FM only...)
