uh, that page also says Greg Kihn hosts the morning show so clearly it hasn't been updated yet.

Lucky for them, there probably won't be a hockey season -- having to run the Sharks every other nite for 6 months would be a hindrance when you're trying to broaden your audience and attract more women.

I've been surprised they hadn't moved the Sharks to 95.7 "The Lame", maybe now they will.

The Sharks refuse to let them out of their contract for 98.5 airing the games. The San Jose frequency is the most important to the Sharks.

I am pleased they are going commercial free 9AM-Noon but it sure sounds like a desperate move. With no commercials how do they make money even with improved ratings in the commercial free show?

Radio Ink's story on the relaunch (http://www.radioink.com/Article.asp?id=2534882&spid=24698) says that--even though the block is commercial-free--it's still "advertiser-sponsored" (although the story doesn't elaborate on that).
Probably something like "This hour is brought to you by the letters K and F and the #1 (insert actual business name)"

This looks like a play to grab disaffected listeners from K-FOG.
Pretty interesting that two stations with such similar names were allowed to co-exist in the pre-PPM ratings environment. Did one send a C&D letter to the other at any point?

KFOG protested a few years ago when KFOX was planning on going on 104.9. KFOG had complained that the 2 stations played similar music and people that used the Arbitron diaries might get confused as to which station they were listening to.
