I wish this wasn't so true.

hipporadio said:While I will not dispute that “HD Radio” operates in large markets that cumulatively-attempt to serve 80% of the population, it is downright deceitful to represent that it reliably covers that wishful percentage of the nation’s land-mass – or that it EVER WILL! Much to the dismay of those at Broadcast Electronics, “HD Radio” isn’t coming to Abbeville, South Carolina [on AM] or Hazard, KY [on FM] ANYTIME SOON!

...And unless you own or have control off all the stations reaching those two markets, you're kinda not real honest either...

Mr. Inspector... Is the pro-HD “cluster” here now-given to depend on mere-semantics for argumentative fodder? Review THE FIRST LINE in my prior post... ‘See the word “observations”? [YES]... Now see the word “fact”, which I frequently-use to qualify an entrenched statement? [NO!]... Not ANYWHERE in that post as a matter OF FACT!
Rewarding semantics with yet-another semantic regarding the radio home of Paul B. Walker: As a frequent visitor to the half-sand/half-mountainous SC Upstate and the Savannah Lakes region, I can SPECULATE that NO Augusta, GA AM station is in any position to reliably-serve that area with an “HD” signal – certainly-not WRDW [at 1630] and likely-not low-band WGAC—whose signal is potent and unrestricted only by day.
What is one with initiative here to do in the face of your investigatory zeal and “HD”-enthusiasm, clouseau?
...Should I just “give-up” my well-breed conclusions; buy an “HD Radio” from QVC; and slide-on an orange jump-suit?
NO... I do not hold the license for WABV in Abbeville, SC – Nor do I control FM stations in Hazard, KY. – But I am well-acquainted with over a dozen tenured operators in small markets where the “HD” R.O.I. well-exceeds that in the communities mentioned; and can confidently-predict that iNiquity-flavored “HD” ISN’T on the way “ANYTIME SOON”!
