The 3rd week of January PPM ratings are out and KLOL is STILL Houston's #1 Spanish station for P25-54, and I believe the holidays are over. So what will David E. use as his excuse now?

For some odd reason, I think LBI won't be in the hunt for both of CC stations. CC will probably want' to sell both stations in a package, and if KXGJ and KIOX are counted as "in the market", then they have a problem.Mediafrog+ said:David won't need any excuses, as he knows that Mega will most likely be toast once the new owners take over. It might survive if Liberman gets the stick, but they would more likely move La Raza to the 101.1 frequency and move El Norte to 98.5 and 103.3.

Well, unloading those two FM stations will be hard. No one seems to buy down there. Both KROY and KZRC have been silent for a while now. I think 92.5 has been on sale for the longest. I don't know if that has changed, but if it hasn't then expect LBI to unload those two stations at a very cheap price. Only possible buyer I can think of is Roy Henderson, but he'll probably offer less than what LBI will be asking for. It is Dry Country down the Gulf Coast.Mediafrog+ said:oldjohnny said:CC will probably want' to sell both stations in a package
Not necessarily, if they can get more money by selling separately. But selling them together would speed things along.

I would think that Liberman would gladly unload their lesser signals in order to get a MC stick. Possible scenario: get rid of 880 and 1230 AM, plus the two exurban FM's. That would leave a MC signal, 98.5, 103.3, 107.9, 700, 850, plus Channel 61--which puts them at market cap.

And don't forget to add that this station has a very limited signal. I applaud KAMA for this. They have been able to go up to the level of KLOL with a bad signal.DavidEduardo said:easy money said:The 3rd week of January PPM ratings are out and KLOL is STILL Houston's #1 Spanish station for P25-54, and I believe the holidays are over. 18-34 and 12+ belong to Estereo Latino, and Mega continues to move lower. We are talking about only 7 weeks since the market changes. And the difference in 25-54 is now 0.1... a tie within the margin of error of the survey.

All things considered Mega is doing a great job competeing as a stand alone.

I must admit you're the first person that I've ever heard speak so highly of Liberman.
You're correct CC has no vision, but Bain and Lee are willing to fork out 20 BILLION for this worthless operation. How much is Univision and Liberman valued at?
easy money said:No doubt, KLOL's holiday #'s were inflated.
But the station still has much improved #'s since it changed to its current music.
And remains Houston's top ranked Spanish station M-S 6a-12m P25-54.
