It's kinda interesting to me that y'all don't hear KKMY on 104.5 from the Triangle more often. It used to be a regular in Houston, nearly on par with KIOC in frequency of visits.Tropos was really strong this morning. Seems like we’ll get a repeat tonight
There is a translator on 104.5 from Wells Fargo downtown that covers up any possible DX.It's kinda interesting to me that y'all don't hear KKMY on 104.5 from the Triangle more often. It used to be a regular in Houston, nearly on par with KIOC in frequency of visits.
I hear them a lot and sometimes with HD locks up north. A lot of Beaumont signals are common. Just gotta find spots where it’s stronger than the translatorsIt's kinda interesting to me that y'all don't hear KKMY on 104.5 from the Triangle more often. It's challenging to get any DXing close to the city now with translators on nearly every open frequency. There is a translator on 104.5 from Wells Fargo downtown that covers up any possible DX.
When the city's KZCW-LP is off (pretty common), I can typically grab KKMY up here. It's kinda interesting to me that y'all don't hear KKMY on 104.5 from the Triangle more often. It used to be a regular in Houston, nearly on par with KIOC in frequency of visits.
I don’t think I’ve noticed KZCW ever off alongside KZCC. I’m not in Willis much lately. But KZCC has sounded terrible for over a year now I’m pretty sureWhen the city's KZCW-LP is off (pretty common), I can typically grab KKMY up here.
At a check a couple of weeks ago in The Woodlands, KZCC had low, tinny audio. Was not in range of KZCW.But KZCC has sounded terrible for over a year now I’m pretty sure
A lot of my radios when I'm close to KZCC will bleed over on 105.9 & 106.3 and that audio is a lot louder. KZCW typically sounds fine oddly enough. I figured if anything it would be the other way around. At a check a couple of weeks ago in The Woodlands, KZCC had low, tinny audio. Was not in range of KZCW.
It's sounded terrible for years... each station is broadcasting in stereo, but audio is only in one channel. If you want proper stereo, you'll need to get two radios, and be in range of both signals.I don’t think I’ve noticed KZCW ever off alongside KZCC. I’m not in Willis much lately. Honestly makes the city of Conroe look badaudio is only in one channel.
That fact predates both LPFMs by around 30 years.Honestly makes the city of Conroe look bad
As would be expected. KIOC used to be heard regularly in Houston as well.KCOL-FM 92.5 has been covering over our translator here north Houstob by our Airport. Playing Christmas hits all day.
K268CW seems to be getting out farther to the north the past couple of months. Around NW Harris County I would usually hear a weak KLJJ with occasional reception of K268CW, but the translator signal has improved a bit, which makes me wonder if its directional pattern is a bit out of whack.Nothing Major, just wanted to share that 101.5 FM Radio Amistad, well I just noticed it.
A while ago I drove by KHSX and the translator was pretty strong, which makes me wonder if its directional pattern is a bit out of whack.
I assume KHSX is still off the air? They filed a Silent STA a few months ago citing damage from Hurricane Beryl.A while ago I drove by KHSX and the translator was pretty strong
