TowerBuzz said:Who says cbs would be the ones to put it on? someone brought up Mix and then someone said maybe they'll put it on ods, or wbcn? It is not a cbs format so they dont have a requirement to put it on anything. IF WBOS did not bill well despite its non existent ratings I would say they could be the most likely candidate.

Greater Media is stubborn to change any of it's failing properties: look at other GM markets to see how long they retained formats like Jammin' Oldies on WEJM and WGRV, hot AC on WMWX, and everybody's favorite, AAA on WBOS. Even if GM did go with the Movin' format on one of their stations (most likely 92.9, seeing that the future of WKLB is secured for the time being), it would almost certainly be a poorly-produced clone much like the initial WMKK was to Jack FM.

please. gm is not stubborn, they're just incompetent and stupid radio people.
there's a difference. look how many times they've clowned around with wbos
and wror over the years. they've shifted frequencies, call letters, talent,
managers. killed smooth jazz because they didn't know how to sell it right. put up the
worst talk station in america. now killing off classical because they couldn't sell
it if their life depended on it. they're still in business here because of magic and
because that's the only thing that has worked for them here for 25 years.

Well lets see, the choices are Clear Channel: both Jam'n and Kiss are doing well. Greater Media: when's the last time that they flipped a station? Entercom: Now, perhaps they are a possibillity, however considering that they still have the Mike format and put WAAF on 97.7 and them already trying a similar format with Star is doubful.
That leaves Infinity with WBMX (a possibillity), WZLX (do not think that they will change that format.) Oldies (as already mentioned is doing well) and WBCN (which could use a ratings makeover.
Does anyone even know what WZOU was playing before it flipped, because essentially, that's gonna be the format....whack songs, by whack artists, for whack people.
Retro said:Now here is an idea, Entercom could put WAAF on 93.7 and make 97.7 a Movin station.

Supposedly that was the main factor for changing WSJZ as opposed to changing WBOS.
Sounds good, but will not happen . Radio owners, love being stupid .chitchatjf said:Retro said:Now here is an idea, Entercom could put WAAF on 93.7 and make 97.7 a Movin station.
My idea would have 93.7 be the current WAAF 97.7 be a pop station and 107.3 be the rhythum station.
They could call it the three flavors of WAAF Rock, pop, and soul. Three different music styles one station.
Hill-man could do bits on all three morning shows.
