Is D. Ankarlo ever coming back?

Heard this today: Bruce Jacobs going head to head with JD in PM drive. Announcement in a few weeks.

This is going to be a FUN fight to watch, listening or not! I'll probably be listening to Hugh Hewitt or Live 365 most of the time, but I'm looking forward to the fireworks.
I heard some good news today on Jay Lawrence's show about Ankarlo's health. Jay told a caller that Ankarlo has gotten healthier and is getting very close to coming back on the air. No timeline was given, but Jay made it seem like Ankarlo could be coming back soon. Encouraging news indeed for Ankarlo fans. When Ankarlo does come back, mad props will have to be given to KTAR for waiting so long for him to get healthy.
Big programming and host announcements in the coming weeks!

The "Bruce & Bruce" show was also considered, with Bruce St. James as a side-kick or even co-host.

Wow, that is interesting. The Mac and Gaydos experiment has not worked out too well so two hosts in PM drive might not be the answer. The only way two co-hosts would work out would be if they brought back Arizona's afternoon news in PM drive, like they used to have with Ted Simons and Heidi Foglesong.
I still would prefer KTAR focusing more on the news than the talk in PM drive. Traffic updates every ten minutes is a must during PM rush-hour. We are, after all, the fifth largest city in the country. KTAR's sister station in Salt Lake City, KSL 1160 AM / 102.7 FM has Utah's afternoon news with traffic updates every ten minutes and they're a much smaller city than Phoenix. Why don't we have that here? If KTAR won't do it, someone else, like KFYI, should.
Dump Mac and Gaydos and bring back all-news in PM drive!

The Nurse and I aren't buying all the talk about the departure of Dumber & Dumbest. Gaydos is the darling of the Master Blogger... remember when he rolled 9 to Midnite, 9 to Midnite, 9 to Midnite? Then he rolled 7 - 10pm, 7 to 10pm, 7 to 10pm. Now he's rollin in PMD with Mac Watson - a talker who was going nowhere fast at KT'R until he was paired with Gaydos. The Buckeye Boyz are too damn cheap to subscribe to Arbitron, but we suspect those PMD PPM numbers are a lot better and younger than JD Loudmouth's over at KFWhyEye. Plus D & D create a lot of buzz with the more stupid and juvenille things heard on the show. If you think the masses are asses, these guys know how to fill the seats - and that's the name of the game.
If there's a lineup change at KT'R, Nurse Jeff and I suspect it comes at 8:30am. And there are only two names that come to mind if KT'R wants to do something big.

hmmmm....a three hour shift. Wouldn't that work out well for a red-hot syndicated talker whose show would only be delayed by three hours? The Nurse and I like this rumor we're starting as it gives KT'R a one hour head start before El Rushbo comes on KFWhyEye. Now the question becomes: is there such a thing as Aunt Carlos Afternoons?
