Incidentally, and waaaay off the topic, the song "It's Raining Men" was co-written by the great Paul Shaffer. His girlfriend (now wife) originally hated the song. I'm sure she's not complaining now.

And...yes, I'm ashamed I know this....the song It's Raining Men, was first offered to Donna Summer, who disliked and passed on it. (Not that it hurt her career any).

That's because Summer's producer, Paul Jabara, is the other co-writer. Jabara offered the song to Summer, who had recently become "born again" and passed on the song.

How Shaffer came to co-write "It's Raining Men" is six pages of good reading in his new book, "We'll Be Here For The Rest of Our Lives."
