Cumulus subscribed all their stations at the Haverty's building on Johnson Ferry...except 680. Might be a family thing...

Why does your blog have Kiss at #2 when Majic is #2 with a 7.2?

This. Q took this book by 0.5, while Power took the previous two books, including by 0.9 in the Holiday book. I think this will be a seesaw battle for CHR in the market, with one station gaining the edge for a book or two at a time, then reverting to the other CHR, like WFLZ and WPOI in Tampa. I think this goes to show that there is room for two "full" service CHRs in the market and that CC simply adding a CHR will not bring about the demise of Q. Power will actually have to work to make matters miserable for Q.TheMusicMan said:It is entirely too early to be crowning Q100 the victor in Atlanta's CHR war.

BarryATL said:I am posting these here only as a comparison to AN106.7. CBS finally subscribed WNEW to the Arbitron ratings this month. This is the first time we have seen any public ratings for WNEW. So here are the comparisons for the three new all news stations:
Sep12 Oct12 Nov12 Dec12 Hol12 Jan13
WNEW-FM
News CBS Radio -- -- 0.9 0.7 0.9 1.3
WYAY-FM
News Cumulus 1.3 1.5 1.5 1.1 1.3 1.4
KROI-FM
News Radio One 1.0 0.9 1.0 0.9 0.8 1.0
This is purely speculation, but from listening to KROI News 92FM, it sounds like Radio One has not made the investment in that operation the way CBS has in WNEW and Cumulus in WYAY. KROI has signal issues over a major chunk of Houston. WNEW has a transmitter that is in the wrong place and their signal does not cover the biggest areas of commuting. WYAY is not really signal handicapped like the other two stations. I do think it is interesting to compare the trends. Of course, this is not the target demos, so it really does not mean much.

What a great book for Majic...I personally like them better than Kiss
Wild 105.7/96.7 has been promoting POWER 96.1 like crazy directing listeners there for Hit music. They even share the same live remotes and events. Let's not forget the POWER TV ads running like crazy. I'd say WILD's days are numbered. I just wish POWER 96.1 would take off and get into the streets and nightclubs.electroboy73 said:As I can't say much for whether Atlanta's audience wants more Hot-AC or pure CHR but, compared to Q100, POWER is sounding better than Q. While mornings and middays are syndicated with Elvis Duran and Seacrest, Sonic is live in PM drive. Plus, the evening show with Maddox is miles better than voice-tracked, Perez Hilton/Adam Bomb. Power has Maddox with a live Top 9 at 9 countdown and they've recently started doing "Radio Graffiti" at 10pm. His whole show is like a party...and it's live! So...who knows but, my vote is DEFINITELY on Power over Q100.![]()

And watch Reggie Rouse at V-103 start skewing the station more R&B and soul-driven in middays (with Egypt) and late nights ("The Quiet Storm) along with station promotions/events towards the 25-40 year olds just to eat up what Majic recently gained. This is about to get really interesting in the next couple of weeks because I know them at CBS. It's about to be a war of urban music demos for sure...![]()

I've always had a crush on MAJIC over KISS. Even though MAJIC is syndicated mornings and afternoons, there overall sound is perfect. There weekend mixshows are awesome too, something that KISS doesn't do at all! Kila, you're right about what V103 will now do. With STREETZ 94.5 aiming at HOT 107.9, V103 will play more R&B to battle KISS and MAJIC. BTW, I would love to know how STREETZ is doing ratings wise.
