Jim Sharpe will leave the building...

What a way to go out... as Reporter Of The Year!
Good for you Jim. I hear you give great P.R.! :p

I'll add to this...

Not only is Jim Sharpe one of the best reporters, his cell phone gets more bars in Baghdad than any other! That includes my sat phone!

(BTW, Jim... I need to make another call. Can I borrow it?)

Good Luck buddy!

It can truly be said that there isn't a nicer, more dedicated person in radio than Jim Sharpe. He makes doing radio look effortless. Kudos, Jim, but we sure will miss you in the radio biz!!

There are the nice people that you meet along the way, and then there are the talented people. Rarely does one person possess both qualities. Jimmy is one of those unique individuals. I, and many others, are fortunate to know him.

Seriously. Throw out the name of anyone else in valley radio, and you'll get a mixture of positive and negative responses. Throw out Jim's name, and you realize everyone who's worked with him has a great deal of respect for the man.

Alright, already! This is starting to get creepy! :-*

ok then Jimmy....let me warn everyone at your new job.....WHATEVER YOU DO....DO NOT USE THE RESTROOM RIGHT AFTER JIM.....YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!! Is that a little less creepy?

We still think Jim was the best morning guy at KT'R in the past decade! Somehow the Nurse and I think he'll drift back to radio one day. Our good bud at the late East Valley Network had it right - Radio is crack!

Jim, if it makes you feel any better I remember when you were a totally irresponsable turd. Then again, so was I.
Isn't it great that even people like us can change? ;D

You deserve all the good words, my friend.

In two weeks I'd like to discuss Captain Crunch and those missing twenties' years. It's very cold and snowy here...........do you have a basement or a spare room? Just curious.

Long time have I read this board and not registered, but for Jim Sharpe, I'll break some silence. Jim was my first interview back in 1995 when he was at KZON and I was in broadcast school. He gave unselfishly of his time to a newbie and was great to talk with and get feedback from. In future years, Jim's made himself available early in my radio career on those rare occassions when I wanted to talk with someone in the industry who could give true insight. A stand up guy and geniunely nice human being.

Good luck, Jim. I know you'll succeed in whatever you put your mind to.

Jim, your voice and talent will be missed on the radio.
Whomever you're with will now benefit from your unselfishness and class.
My wife and I had the pleasure of being seated with you at a wedding and you were so nice to us.
We enjoyed moving around the dial to listen to you.
Hope to hear you on air again someday.

Best to you and yours.

Good to see ya on here Russ, enjoy the fantasy football show, and your other endeavors through the years, etc.

As for Jim: Good guy, I met him briefly sometime ago along with the chickboss and a few other folks at KFYI. Jim is really about the most humble guy in radio, and I know he's had some hardships (divorce, custody of kids, etc), so this is especially good news for him. Although it is somewhat sad for the radio biz because a good guy is leaving, but bitter-sweet I suppose.

Thank you. I think that's the nicest thing ever said about me here.

Wait. I think that's the ONLY thing ever said about me here!

Don't worry Russ; now that people know you read the site, they'll start the mean talk. :'(

Jim Sharpe HAS DONE left the building...

Hey! It's been almost two whole months...I just wanted to see my name at the top of the radio board again. ;D

I have had interest when it comes to filling in - from both of my almae matres. Jason Rose says, "Go for it!" Hmmm...what to do?!? ::)

Fill in for the Nearly Bald One....Nurse Jeff and I find Barry Markson as annoying to listen to as Mac & Cheese on KT'R!

I do gotta give Barry Markson major props for his interview with Jim Weirs the other day. Weirs is sponsoring another no gay marriage bill, and Barry asked him "why is this necessary?" And Weirs just fell silent for several uneasy seconds, then just stammered and stuttered and made an idiot out of himself.

It was quite fun to listen to, regardless of your politics.
