SAD...I love listening to Jim Ladd when possible. That's awful news. Same for Joe (A great spirit, I have multiple 'signed' copies of "Uncle Joe's Record Guides" scattered around the house =) I've been listening a lot to Radio Paradise lately, as KLOS and KSWD seem to be moving in the same direction...Boring. Out with the old, in with the new, whatever the new may be. Perhaps Buchanan doesn't like having personalities at the station that are bigger than he is?
And why is the new PD inserting himself into the on-air talent rotation? This is almost always an ego play and rarely is it successful. Rita Wilde, by contrast, gave up nearly all on-air work when she became the PD and she did a very good job for a number of years. In fact, her dismissal still has not been really justified by management.

If CC owned them Jim Ladd would be gone and so would at least one more full timer. They'd be tracked except for maybe two or three shifts during the weekends too. What Citadel is doing isn't cool, but it could be worse ... Look at what's happened at all the great stations here in LA and across the nation in the last ten years. They're being stripped of their personalities to save money. Money that just goes to the executives at these companies. After all, they need an extra house in Hawaii and another luxury car or two. The corporate mentality at these companies is now that the PPM is measuring ratings they really don't need jocks or much else except for music and some imaging pushing their websites. Like I said, it could be worse at KLOS, and perhaps it will be someday soon.
Could have been Jerry DelCaliano. He's been hammering away at Cumulus and Citadel lately.calguy said:I heard that Citadel may sell off the stations they got from ABC. Trying to find the story, but can't remember where I saw it. But it was within the last few days. I'm going to go through my Ross on Radio and Taylor on Radio Info newsletters to see if it was there. But it could've been from someone else.
