So while two games are available as if it is a double-header, the stations can only pick one?kenrayc said:vchimpanzee said:I taped Andy again this week at his usual time, while the other CBS station was running behind. There must be someone who can explain this.
Very simple it was CBS week to air only one NFL game, most affiliates had the morning games, the only afternoon game was Cleveland at San Diego, and some affiliates picked that game instead of the early games, Parts of Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Ohio, southern CA and some others went with the afternoon game.

I didn't know how this worked, but I have heard people say "Fox has the double-header this week".kenrayc said:FOX and CBS alternate the double header, while one has the double header the other network can only pick one game, Next week FOX will only have one game and CBS will have two games.vchimpanzee said:So while two games are available as if it is a double-header, the stations can only pick one?kenrayc said:vchimpanzee said:I taped Andy again this week at his usual time, while the other CBS station was running behind. I meant on a week Fox actually had the double header. Apparently "Brothers" and "American Dad" get to be on, then. I haven't checked.kenrayc said:vchimpanzee said:I didn't know how this worked, but I have heard people say "Fox has the double-header this week".kenrayc said:FOX and CBS alternate the double header, while one has the double header the other network can only pick one game, Next week FOX will only have one game and CBS will have two games.vchimpanzee said:So while two games are available as if it is a double-header, the stations can only pick one?kenrayc said:vchimpanzee said:I taped Andy again this week at his usual time, while the other CBS station was running behind. No it's CBS that has the double header this coming weekend and FOX has one game which most Fox stations are going with a 1 PM EST game.
The networks pick the games for the stations; there can be "appeals" case by case, but it's not like each station looks at the lineup and determines what they'll take.imhomerjay said:So while two games are available as if it is a double-header, the stations can only pick one?
Well, as I've explained in more detail than you seem to care for, I have two CBS affiliates. One is actually in Charlotte and the other is in the next market over. Oh, if you go to the country music board and look at one of the Carrie Underwood topics I have a fascinating story about that.vchimpanzee said:The networks pick the games for the stations; there can be "appeals" case by case, but it's not like each station looks at the lineup and determines what they'll take.imhomerjay said:So while two games are available as if it is a double-header, the stations can only pick one?
vchimpanzee said:This week I happened to hear that the Panthers would be on Fox at 1. So what are the rules that apply to the CBS stations? I think the one in Charlotte is not alowed to show a competing game at the same time, and they're the ones that aired games at 4 and therefore had the schedule delayed. The other CBS affiliate did not have a 4:00 game because they started everything on time. Going by the distance between the cities of license in a car, they're about 90 miles apart.

First of all The Panthers are not at home, so CBS still can run a game at 1 PM as well as a 4 PM game.
According to the 506 NFL maps distribution forum all of North Calolina
this weekend will have Carolina at N.E. at 1 on FOX, Cincinnati at Minnesota at 1Pm on CBS and San Diego at Dallas at 4PM on CBS.

Yeah...and everyone but the Bay Area and Nashville markets (Raiders and Titans both at home in Fox's late slot) are getting San Diego-Dallas. We in Los Angeles are also getting the Cincinnati-Minnesota game on CBS, and Fox is giving us New Orleans at Atlanta.
One local newspaper whose TV listings were in yesterday's paper says both CBS affiliates will have a game at 4.kenrayc said:vchimpanzee said:This week I happened to hear that the Panthers would be on Fox at 1.
