i know that nbc would jip where as cbs would show 60 minutes in full?Stations don't decide. Networks do. Stations just pass along whatever the network feeds them.

People got tired of "An abbreviated version of '60 Minutes'". It's "60 Minutes", so they want 60 minutes!i know that nbc would jip where as cbs would show 60 minutes in full?
I had too much on both TiVos and the VCRs hooked up to antennas are broken, so ...People got tired of "An abbreviated version of '60 Minutes'". It's "60 Minutes", so they want 60 minutes!
Which reminds me. I'd better tape it this week.
not sports related but in 1990 didn't abc slide china beach for the state of the union address?
It always happened when the president spoke that meant the news started late same thing with Monday night football the news would start when the game ended
i am just stating the fact i have the news delayed a lot whither it was for sports or the network sliding the schedule
this might be a good question to ask but what if game a runs really long i remember that sometimes wlos's sign off would be delayed to air local news and nightline? how nbc did handle late running baseball and johnny carson? just asking thanks
i am talking about mnf or nbc postseason baseball or nba postseason on nbc or abc
My recollection (and it is only that; I cannot find any confirmation of this) is that on evenings where NBC had sports programming that ran in prime time a Carson rerun was scheduled because of the high probability that he would air much later than usual in the east.
Now, if you are talking about a local station's commitment to carry games of a local team, then NBC had no say in it, so they did not "handle" anything. In those circumstances, if Carson ran late, he ran late ... just as Nightline ran late on your ABC station as you recalled above.
The difference is that in the first example, the entire network was affected. In the second, only one station was.
