I think Saturday morning from 9 to noon would be a much better time.raccoonradio said:meanwhile via Bruce Allen tweet (Boston Sports Media Watch)

Also, slightly off topic, they had a "comedian" named Tracy Morgan on this AM. I'm not famailiar with his work, but he didn't come off as a barrel of laughs to me. He sounded like he was very annoyed to be talking to them. Why would they have a guy like that on?
I missed the first part of the interview, so I thought they were talking about Stephen A. Smith's latest gaffe. I, truthfully, didn't know the guy was a comedian until they said he was appearing somewhere tonight. He didn't say anything that was even mildly amusing. He sounded angry.dyeingeye said:ArtSpooner said:They had a woman named Jen on this AM. I got the impression that she's hot looking, but I have to say that she's got a very nasal and whiney voice. Tracy Morgan can be great on radio. T&R had him on when they did afternoons and he was hilarious. They just let him talk for about 40 minutes in studio. D&C aren't T&R so you can see why Morgan wouldn't work with the former.
"Jen" is Jen Royle. She left Baltimore radio amidst a fight with some sports radio host. She ended up suing him for defamation. She returned here last spring and was rumored to be joining one of the radio or cable stations, which hasn't happened except for a few guest appearances.
Also, Finn mentioned Kevin Winter from ESPN Radio might audition for Meter's former position, but he would stay with ESPN Radio some how.

Based on the reaction on yesterday's whiner line, she has to do a little more than turn it down. Her act went over like a lead balloon. Of course you never know with this outfit. They still have Muttnansky on five days a week.Blackroc said:they just let him talk

A game girl who's advanced beyond her abilities. I like her but the act needs to be turned down a notch.

The road schedule is different, but unless it's a marquee game for TNT that doesn't happen that often either. The three Thursday games during this time period are all 8p or later starts.

His dad was the guy who sold and produced the Beacon Sports broadcasts.
Beacon Sports was Neil Cortell
Meter's dad works for the Red Sox as a tourguide. He is 81 and still going strong.

Listening to Meter do a B.C. game is funny, until you realize that he's not trying to be funny He's been ridiculed on the air about his over the top style, but has done nothing to change it. I think he's actually gotten worse.thirdendorsed said:Blackroc said:I heard Meter today for the first time --Pbp--this season. Carried away at times
Understatement of the week. month year decade century millenium eternity.

I would be shocked if he got the Pats' job. That organization takes their business very seriously. Gil Santos is one of the most respected guys in the business. They won't replace him with someone who is the butt of so many jokes. They won't find anyone with Gil's credentials, but you can bet they'll be looking for a seasoned pro. Sean McDonagh or Dave O'Brien come to mind, if their current contractual obligations allow it.thirdendorsed said:Blackroc said:I heard Meter today for the first time --Pbp--this season. He doesn't have the talent to "position" himself for an NFL PBP job.
You will have names with NFL play by play experience in the hunt for this one and people who have done football but who have also done other major league sports. The guy they hire will be a major player in sports broadcasting in the market; it ain't gonna be a rookie
A guy who does soccer off the television set, or who goes over the top trying to develop catch phrases has no chance.
That was a joke about the timing of his move and the best open job in the market."position" himself for
