KBIG. Is the clock ticking down?

Would CC really flip two radio stations in the same market within a matter of weeks, and especially in a market this large and important to their bottom line?

They did it in Philly... 104.5 and 106.1 at the same time.

Ironically 106.1 became My 106.1.

so i guess no more kari steel?boogie nights?this sucks.here in san diego we use to have my 941.it changed into star 941 within a year.i allways feel bad for all of the air staff.are they still going to have the same call letters?

KBIG hasn't really "flipped". Just a refocus on mainstream AC. No more disco. This would definately signal a change to come for Star.

Yes, they would. Michael Martin is calling the shots and thought nothing of making lots of changes in San Francisco. Besides the people in San Antonia have other things to worry about. But really, if they're convinced that this will help their bottom line they won't see a problem with these changes.

I hope they at least keep the heritage calls

Oh you'll hear those calls K.B.I.G. at 11 am , 12 noon, 1 pm , 2 pm 3 pm etc :)

My104.3 is like the opposite of the original Star Trek mission.... To unboldly go where almost every radio station has gone before.

Sooooo what's gonna happen with 98.7 as this playlist seems IDENTICAL to what Star has been playing?

i agree.time to move!movin here i come.its funny, saint john is doing the voiceovers .he use to work for power 106 back in the days.

They are doing exactly what they should be doing. Making KBIG a mainstream AC to compliment KOST. Star should become either Active Rock or rock leaning AAA.

almost every clear channel market has this format.getting worn out on it.i guess late night parting with k big has came to a end..

Sure hope you're right about that!! I'd prefer along with you a decent AAA station, though the demos wouldn't support it very well. The old FM 101.9 and Channel 103.1 WERE too mellow, they needed some of the harder-edged AAA artists or they should have been a good hybrid of what the old KMPC-FM/The Edge used to do and what FM 101.9 played in its first year and a half. Ahhhh but we're in the minority! :(

Is this the same Geoff St. John, that is currently on WILD 94.9 in San Francisco?

Oh but I think there is an audience for it, but they are listening to Jack for lack of something better. I think a good rock leaning AAA could take the legs out from under 93.1. Something KLOS should have done a long time ago.
