KBKS Morning Show Out

Per their own Instagram posts, CarlaMarie and Anthony are out at Kiss 106.1. No further information was given. Not sure if the co-hosts Alabama or Evan are staying or going.

Doesn't this just figure, as soon as I prepare to leave the market, something finally happens? It's about time they did something with that station.

Where are you heading, Bob?

As for moving the show to nights, that will not happen. They were already relegated to the night show when 93.3 flipped back to KUBE, leaving 106.1 the only station in the iHeart cluster for their program to make sense. They, of course, were eventually moved to the morning show. I would be surprised if KBKS had any live midday or evening show as it is. All of this aside, it is unfortunate that this happened to them, especially in such a difficult climate.

Flip the format. Stick ANYTHING on that frequency. Hell, bring back KRPM and let's see a 3-way Country battle. Or resuscitate Funky Monkey,.

Let's hope both of them get rehired elsewhere together on the same station if possible and timeslot. They do a great show. Carla Marie and Anthony and Evan and Amber have great chemistry.

Unlikely. I think it's about time iHeart took this station back out behind the barn... curious to know what y'all think might replace the format if they were to flip this, can't see many reasonable format holes in the market.
Alt is in a major down cycle right now, urban would step on KUBE’s toes, AAA barely works in 2020, The Jet, Jack and KZOK have classic hits/rock in the cluster, two is plenty for country, classic country on a full-powered FM in a top 20 market is a non starter, only room for one soft AC in the market, they’re not sacrificing a revenue stream for simulcasting KJR on FM again, adult CHR has already been attempted (doubt it’s going to back to it), and they’re not firing up a news/talker on FM. 90s? A stretch yet.

Best just to stick with CHR and grab Jubal and his wife.

I pretty much agree with this. I will say a KJR-AM simulcast could hypothetically make sense if iHeart were to try and grab broadcast rights to the new Seattle NHL team. I don't see any other formats they could realistically flip to that would be successful.

Kiss seemed to do reasonably well as a Hot AC. I'd like to see a harder Alternative similar to what they were doing at 102.9.

The market I've spent the most time in outside of Seattle, Portland. We've got a nice place in NW Vancouver.

6/12+, I remember seeing it at about the mid-3’s or so. But that was also when they had a longtime morning guy that was familiar with and fit the target demo. He’s down the hall now, and can’t see him moving back so quickly.

102.9 was pretty much all classic alt; I didn’t remember any currents being played.

I feel like Jubal’s coming back.

This.

It's obvious, in my opinion! Instant ratings!

By the way, it was SO STUPID of iFM (iFartMedia) to mess with 106.1's moderately successful Adult CHR format. Station should've been left COMPLETELY ALONE when 93.3 reverted to the KUBE brand.
