Way to go cbsradio. They just keep making the very best moves. Should i call wmmr and complain that I dont like lame, copy & paste rip& read radio and the same 4 artists on a replay all day. No, i just dont listen to their garbage to throw over the airwaves.

No, how about you realize that this is a business that sells advertising and when you stray that far over the line... you not only offend the hell out of most of your adult audience... but you run away the cash paying advertisers.

If Imus and Stern couldn't get away with it anymore at CBS... what made this idiot think he could? No need to fire him for being racist... being stupid is cause enough.

Beyond that... the song is neither clever nor funny. It's lame.

so, if I think a topic sucks, I'm not just supposed to read the topic and keep my opinion to myself, I'm supposed to ignore it all together? I'm sorry, I thought these were the Radio-Info message boards, not the Kidd Chris fan club.

Also, I disagree with the idea that all criticism of this guy is equivalent to being like a clueless radio exec. In fact, I kinda bristle at being lumped in with that group. If were actually a CBS suit, I wouldn't have hired a shock jock like Chris in the first place. It's a business strategy that has proven to be more harmful than beneficial over time. The way these executives kept taking chances on this kind of entertainment was like touching a hot stove to see if it'll still burn.

You and I agree on one thing, though: how CBS really fumbled this entire incident. You might say he should've stayed, and I say he should've been gone a long time ago - but we both say to fire him for this type of material nearly a full month after it aired was a hypocritical and poorly timed move.

It is now. All Access and Inside Radio are all over it this afternoon. He was fired for an "offensive racial" segment a couple of months ago. WYSP? Finding something offensive? This from the people who brought us Howard Stern for so many years.........good grief.

anyone with me? everyone knows what Kidd Chris does. this is his kind of thing, which i find WAY better than P&S

im not saying its ok to be racist, but it was juast a joke. its suppose to make people laugh.

if all ghoes well, YSP will have no morning show, and play all music like WRFF, this would get more listeners in the mornings.

it may not be the funniest thing ever, but it sure beats P&S talking about their favorite candy bars.

personally, i find KC the best when theyre making prank phone calls, especially when they have that dude called cheesburger on the air.
 
Well all my radio geekeeys. I think you may slightly be missing the mark on this. You may want to observe a measurably insidious pre-calculated career planner taking effect. Let’s see. Aggregate racially insensitive remark, remarks, or content. Get fired. Cash in on publicity. Settle early contract termination lawsuit out of court. Pocket millions. Cash in on publicity. Get new 5-year contract with competing media entity for more money. (Newly merged XM-Sirius). Pocket millions. Cash in on publicity. Syndicate show back to terrestrial radio. Pocket more millions. Cash in on publicity. End result. Increase personal revenue for each personal broadcast minute doing excessively predictable dumb stuff.

Dan gross's column is freezing up.....other boards are close to burning up their servers(no treally, but kinda)... And for what.... ? Ohh I know, A no talent hack..Yeah right.! Keep telling yourselves that. Kidd chris is the best local talent to hit the Philly area in quite a while.
 
Even though I'm from out of town...I listened to the parody clip....and that was pushin it. ( And i don't mean Salt N' Peppa')
What probably broke the straw was the remark after the parody. It's a rock station that aired a bit depicting all black people. I didn't know what swoogie was until the remark from the woman at the end. Yes I was getting the meaning during the parody of the certain type of the race that is not wanted or feared. Not just by whites and asians, but as well as hard working educated blacks as well. But that went all over the place. It attacked young black grade boys and girls to the Phillies black team ball players. The way it was presented..If it was a parody that just attacked a N. Philly gang, Sharpton, Jackson, William Cody or a group of thugs.... would've been considered acceptable.
The way that went over the air.....and the cynical laughs from the jocks, over an out of control chick's parody and comment....if I was in that studio at the time...i would've been looking over my shoulder. You insulted everybody.
 
Lame bit. Lame parody. Lame jock. KC gets how many millions for doing this puerile shtick? Lame CBS. Lousy judges of alleged talent. They deserve each other. Dopes.

CBS radio did the right thing here. Stuff like this should not be heard on the radio, period.
