KOOL Listener Lauren in traffic accident

Silkie -

A local busy body? Not quite. A close, personal friend of Lauren's? Yes. In fact, Lauren does work for my company and another.

I assure you that this was not a "call to press" but, rather, your misinterpration of "Let's go to press" in a bit of levity, which she desperately needs right this minute. As I stated, I have had full personal assurance from her to let you and her many friends know what she's been going through, without giving morbid details, etc. When quoted about her blood pressure, I didn't make that up. When mentioning her sore wrist, I was told that directly, several times, and the pictures are actually her car from pictures she took and authorized me to post as a way to keep people up to date, without seeming like a flame of hate about cause, fault, deposition, medical crisis, etc. As I said to you in a PM, I took care of that and caution, as well.

So, now you know.

Your concern is much appreciated and as you can see, many of us are concerned about her well-being, as well as on her spirit and in keeping her up so she can mend and move on. Typing with one hand in this condition is not easy for her, nor is, at the time, her emotional state one she could adequately -- and safely -- put into words, without saying more than need be, without raising more concern.

Most of all, the note of thanks to each of you is also direct from Lauren, as it is from me -- an employer who happens to be a radio guy and a good friend of hers and several on this board.

Thanks for your understanding.

Regards,

Joe

So this is about you, and not about her? All about you and your company, and what a wonderful boss you are, and Lauren's misfortune becomes money in your pocket as a result? How faithful of you to deliver all of her messages to us, seein' as how she can only type with one hand, and it is through you with messages to all of us.

Shame on you, Silkie! Quit being an ass to my good friend because he's doing me a HUGE favor. Take it elsewhere!!

Thank you so much to everyone for being a help in a difficult time. This has meant so much to me and you'll all be getting personal thank you's.

Good to see you up and feisty KLL! ;D

We're glad you are all recovered and cured. Thank goodness it only looked worse than it was.

nothing - should be posted online referencing ....

Ditto for posting anything on Twitter, Facebook, Myspace: don't do it. Whether it's something that can be perceived as 'good' (like partying) or 'bad' (in a hospital bed)....keep it offline and away from the internet.

In somewhat of an unrelated note, My step mom and others have warned be about the things I say online, but I never even thought of it like this! Well, now I'm personally thinking that it may not be the brightest idea for me to be using a real name, or name that's easy to trace in addition to leaving links at the bottom of my page for people to find me - ESPECIALLY with the type of things I talk about..

Anyway, I'll be taking this into consideration and possibly acting on it as well. The only problem with switching to fake names and removing links will be the fact that people will begin to assume you have something to hide.. amongst other things, but.. you can't please everyone so I might as well do what's best for me. If I decide to change or delete anything, I will be letting some of you know where you can find me.

From the Nameless Faceless Voice Guy..our thoughts to the Universe are with you, and we wish you less pain and fear, and more strength and personal healing.

Way to go, KDM! You just sealed your fate and ruined any chances of an invitation to Pratt's next BBQ. ;)

What's funny is I was very tempted to make a BBQ joke when typing that, but thought it might not be a good idea and wouldn't appropriately go with the theme of this thread, which in ways was sort of silly of me to worry about, especially after the amount of other things I've already discussed within this thread.

Interestingly enough, tonight's Coast To Coast AM topic is spy chips, rifd tags, tracking devices, ONLINE SECURITY, and other similar things. Now if this is not a sign telling me to remove my real info, sign up under a safe, untrackable user name, and become anti BBQ, then I don't know what is! I guess there are also benefits to using a name that's easily traceable. While there are many downfalls and security risks in regards to putting your info out there, the good things (in addition to people being able to get to know the real you) are that... for example; Lets say there is someone who talks a lot, even getting a bit controversial at times, but always uses their real name in every portion of these boards. Some may see that as taking a risk and possibly killing any chances you could've had with certain people, but there is also that possibility that it could also benefit you because it may come across to others as being a person who's real, genuine, passionate, honest, vocal, and consistent without much to hide. To be perfectly honest, I actually was given a radio job once based on someone discovering me through an incredible amount of stuff I've written in various forums!

Anyway, before I end up getting too deep and in depth into this topic, let me stop now.

*~ I sort of been wanting to say something in regards to Lauren, but... I just don't feel right saying "get well soon" or anything that everyone else has already said or things that I know she's heard and seen hundreds of times already. It's kind of like when I get on facebook and it's somebody's birthday; Their whole page is filled with "happy birthday" and the last thing I want to do is say/do the exact same thing everyone else has said. I also have a weakness when it comes to showing certain types of emotion on a public site & certain places, but I also don't feel like it would be right for me to just not say anything.. Hmmm.... I don't know. I guess deep down inside, maybe me talking about my sister, defensive driving, user names, coast to coast am, the proper prefixes of Ms / Miss / Mrs to use in replacement of "Lovely Lady" in "Lovely Lady Lauren", Online Security, facebook, ...etc. are ways of indirectly trying to say I care. 8)

Don't laugh!

Actually she's KOOL employee Lauren, but she's better now after that crash between places. Fortunately it was not as bad as it looked.

Hope you're feeling better Lauren! We miss having you on the board!

Wow! I didn't know that :) Congrats, Lauren!

No.... Just assuming again. No, I'm not. Silkie doesn't even know me, so just FYI.

But thanks, Patti. I did try a time or two!

Heck I was just going by what Oaktree put in a PM about you working for him.

Right on his own thread too. Glad it was all hype, and you are okay. You can read the whole post for yourselves.

Oh, sorry Lauren. It's just a matter of time though. :) Glad you're feeling better!
