You might have caught in the case of EMF's latest major market purchase (WAAF), the local programming team was planning a complete relaunch of the station, until corporate made the decision to sell the station when the right offer came by. Those in programming might not have complete transparency on Urban One's plans for 92.1; in the meantime, the Kraddick show at least gives more of a draw to 92.1 Mornings than does running a Spotify playlist loaded with ads.
From the nitpicky file, has 92.1 ever run HD? In my car, I get detailed output from all HD stations with the station's logo, current song, current artist, the occasional promo, and such. 92.1 does not run HD and seems to show LAWBOSS and nothing more on the RDS when I scan past. Not blaming their ratings on not running HD, but the visual output looks just sloppy compared to most other Houston stations -- and thinking about 92.1's competition, especially the appearance of an app like Spotify or Pandora.
