I am going to predict a format change under its new owner.

I too hope lt won't be another one of their Spanish-language variety formats. That would be a waste of a strong signal, not to mention it should be on AM. At least if you're going to put Spanish, put a music format (which is not what 104.9 is doing).

If the new owners read this, please think this one out!

Live 105 is on the ropes and ripe for a format flip.

KSJO is one of the better sounding stations in the Bay and is somewhat established....And it has great potential !

Would be a shame and I think, ill-advised to blow it up again!

The company does brokered multiethnic programming.

Channel 92.3 is not long for this world, i'm sad to say, as the Bay Area alternative radio niche is just not big enough and commercially vibrant enough to realistically harbor two Modern Rock stations

the truth to the matter is that Live 105 has a much stronger brand and more than double's the overall 6+ cume of KSJO. (Live 105 cume's over 710,000 listeners 6+ to Ksjo's 300,000. AND Ksjo has slipped to a disappointing 2.1 share in its own San Jose market)

Also, It's been an impossible task to sell advertising on Ksjo in its current format. Everyone in the radio advertising biz knows Channel is simply not making any money whatsoever. Even while offering ridiculously low rates. (I used to work for a local ad agency for 12 years)

Live 105 is a Bay Area institution and a strong and viable brand that are still hitting almost 100% monthly sales quotas

They also produce 3 huge station events and Ntr monsters with Bfd, Not So Silent Night and their Halloween Party, which collectively draws more than 50,000 people each year; more than any station of any format in the country

I think Channel has done an admirable job of going up against a mammoth station as Live 105 over the years and i've enjoyed listening to them as a fan of music and Bay Area radio, but the reality here in a PPM world is that Principal Broadcasting will have much more economic success with a new format on the 92.3 FM stick.

I am going to predict some sort of Asian Format.

If has to be any kind of brokered/multiethnic programming, then just great. A waste of a 32,000 watt signal with a format that really belongs on AM.

If the format becomes Mandarin Chinese will you get mad about it? Think about it, San Francisco bay area has the largest Chinese American Population in North America, also the ethnic group has one of the highest disposable income group, and majority of them have at lest a Bachelors Degree. Another thing, majority of them can speak English. (From a Sales/Marketing point-of view).

Remember what I said...

If you go to yes.com and type in the station call letter KSJO. At 6:24 PM Sat, Jul 3, 10, The station played Metallica - Enter The Sandman. And you could see what they played for the last seven days. Right now they tend to play classic current or recurrent rock and they just want to play everything? I listen to this station since 2000, and right now the music they playing is kind of strange. Because the rating is so low they trying to play something different. ClearChannelComm might sell the station or change format. RIP""""""

Too bad that rock music is not popular. Is this like KFNK, Eatonville WA (104.9) drops modern rock format. Hopefully is not Spanish audio. 92.3 have 6 times the radio signal compare to 104.9, But the rating is still the same. I guess things did not work out.

Would you rather have Vietnamese or Chinese format than Spanish format? Vietnamese and Chinese have high disposable income and are highly educated.

Isn't KSQQ-96.1 Asian? Now they have competition! And I think KSJO has a more powerful signal than KSQQ.
