I have no ties to KVET but I have been a very longtime listener. From my view point it seems that they are really wasting Bob Coles talent with the current morning show format. The fiasco with hiring a third person was pretty much the nail in the coffin for me. The Bender guy is a waste of time.

I listened to KVET for over 10 years and I just quit listening to them all together.

That's what I was thinking....if the gutting of talk from the morning show on 98.1 has produced a ratings bump, well, CC did what it needed to do. If not, all it did was gut an Austin institution for no gain whatsoever.
Wouldn't someone at VET have mentioned a ratings bump for the mornings? If anything, it's probably remained static, after all there's not a whole lot of reason to listen to it anymore, I can hear that music anywhere and it's just another formula radio show now that lacks chemistry and any spark.
Without having access to the actual numbers I know this is only hearsay, but I heard that Bobby Bones (?) was now the number 1 morning show in Austin, I did hear several people listening to it on their computers at an office I was visiting and I asked why and they all said it was the humor.
