Their playlist is a little aggressive, but it's not too bad at all and it have some decent songs as well. Ouch!, ranked 18th place with a 2.8 share.

It seems for whatever reason that CC AC stations do better year round than CBS ACs. There are some exceptions of course, CBSs WRCH/Hartford always does well and CC does have some ACs that take a typical post-holiday dive and don't recover until next Christmas. season.

CBS's WEAT/West Palm Beach does well too, actually they're actually ranked 1st place with 7.9 share in the West Palm Beach market.

They might have changed it, but their playlist still looks pretty AC'ish to me. Definitely more than the other Fresh FM's. I never really paid them much attention before.Ken said:But hasn't the sound of KEZK changed a bit?
That is a very interesting question. One thing that may help KODA is the fact that there is not an extremely strong classic hits or adult hits station in the market. I think they have The Eagle or something like that claiming to play classic hits, but that's almost like classic rock. In most markets where there is not a true pop classic hits station (such as KLUV, WCBS, WMJI, etc), the AC station typically does better because they tend to play more older music from the 70s and 80s that can not be heard anywhere else, like KODA does in Houston.Ken said:What I don't understand is why AC does so much better in Houston then in Dallas. Sure they are two different markets and one AC is owned by CBS and the other is owned by Clear Channel. But who owns it shouldn't matter. So what makes KODA rated at 7.3 in Houston and CBS's KVIL rated at 3.2, both numbers are from the past June ratings. I would think if AC is on top in Houston the same should be said for Dallas.
I've noticed that Christian AC has done well in a lot of southern and midwestern markets with PPM. I would imagine the Christian AC and mainstream AC's may share some audience.Ken said:That makes a lot of sense with KLUV and Jack. But I would still figure KVIL to do well as their surpose to sound soft then the sounds of KLUV and Jack. As for all 3 CBS owned stations I don't see them going anywhere, maybe something different to help KVIL as I doubt CBS would flip the only AC in the Dallas market.
Also in both markets I didn't see this till just now that Christian AC does well in both Dallas and Houston markets.

I see that KOMA have a little bit of lean in AC playing The Police - Every Breath You Take, Foreigner - I Want To Know What Love Is, Foreigner - Waiting For A Girl Like You, Bill Medley - I've Have The Time Of My Life (w/Jennifer Warnes), etc.
I also see that KMGL have a little bit of lean in Classic Hits playing Garry Wright - Dream Weaver, Elton John - Crocodile Rock, The Eagles - Heartache Tonight, Van Morrison - Brown Eyed Girl, Elvin Bishop - Fooled Around And Fell In Love, Firefall - You Are The Woman, etc.
I wondering if there's another market with a successful Classic Hits and AC owned by the same broadcast family.
