The longer I listen to this new Movin' 93.9, the more I like it. It seems like they are playing more 80s and 90s R&B over the last couple of hours than they were in the previous days. I've heard some great 80s and 90s dance classics too ;D. Rumors by Timex Social Club is one my personal favorites. It's beginning to remind me of the early days of Power 106 crossed with the old B-100. I know it's too early for them to start tweaking the format, but they are playing several songs today that I didn't hear in the prior days. It also sounds good when they start the top of the hour with a current track, which they have been consistently. I wonder if they plan to have mixshows at all. I just wish they would add some current dance tracks. Based on the way it sounds today, I'm guessing KBIG is their most direct competition.
One more note: I can remember when Emmis bought KZLA back in 2000 and everyone on this board including Glenn was so sure Emmis would flip KZLA right away to a Rhythmic format. Well, I guess they were partially right...it just took 6 years for Emmis to do it. I'm glad it finally happened.
Wow, they're really bringing back a lot of songs that haven't been on L.A. radio in quite some time...keep it up Emmis!!!
