Last song on WODS!

I LOVE the idea of Saturday evening retro Top 40 show on WBZ . . . How 'bout calling it "'BZ Saturday Night"? I agree, Joe --- use all the old jingles, even the old news sounder: "STAND BY FOR NEWS . . . FIRST, FAST AND FACTUAL FROM THE WBZ NEWS CENTER!"

I think this would really fly!

And J.J.: If you'll still do stuff for CBS Boston (you do some of WBZ-1030's imaging),

No Joe, haven't been their 'voice' since December. So if anyone is looking for an imaging voice, I think I got some time.

And thanks Boston for (almost) 40 years :)

Last song Beach Boys Fun Fun Fun at 11:20 am--recorded so they can play it on Ch 4 news.
I don't know if they do "another" last song just before noon, or some kind of stunting or...?

Fun Fun Fun was their first song too
Might it be Commercials 103.3 till top of the hr?

They said goodbye at 11:20 I think unless they plan to come back on. They had a bunch of ads
but now back to music with Chairmen of the Board: Give Me Just A Little More Time

Yes. And after about 5 minutes of commercials they're back to music. "Give Me Just A Little More Time" is playing now.

Are you listening OTA or on-line?

They're kind of doing a medley of "last songs." I'm betting on Donna Summer's "Last Dance" as the LAST last song. But then again, you can't be sure if it's Westinghouse.

I'm listening on-line and thought maybe the On Air was different. Don't understand why they would have played their last song and said their goodbyes at 11:20 instead of 11:55 or so.

But still very classy move on the part of management to let them say goodbye.

I can hear a bunch of radios around Boston being turned off now.

Always sad to hear a long time station change its format like that.

The final couple of hours of music on WODS as an oldies/classic hits station:

10:00am Drifters - Save The Last Dance For Me
10:03am Johnny Rivers - Summer Rain
10:07am Rolling Stones - Brown Sugar
10:11am Tavares - Don't Take Away The Music
10:14am Looking Glass - Brandy (You're A Fine Girl)
10:18am Dion and the Del Satins - The Wanderer
10:21am Phil Collins - You Can't Hurry Love
10:31am Monkees - I'm A Believer
10:35am Beatles - Twist And Shout
10:39am Bee Gees - Nights On Broadway
10:51am Rod Stewart - Some Guys Have All The Luck
10:58am Fleetwood Mac - Don't Stop
11:02am Patsy Cline - Crazy

11:09am Elvis Presley - Can't Help Falling In Love
11:13am Jimmy Buffett - Margaritaville
11:17am Terry Jacks - Seasons In The Sun
11:20am Gloria Gaynor - Never Can Say Goodbye
11:24am Beach Boys - Fun, Fun, Fun [noted as WODS' first song with the format]
11:32am Chairmen Of The Board (General Johnson) - Give Me Just A Little More Time
11:38am Bon Jovi - Livin' On A Prayer
11:40am David Bowie - Changes
11:44am Donovan - Sunshine Superman
11:52am The Beatles - P.S. I Love You [surprisingly not listed on Yes.com, but I heard this via the stream, and assume it was on the air as well]
11:55am Donna Summer - Last Dance

Here is WODS' final "top songs" long via Yes.com. The top 20:

1 Allman Brothers Band - Ramblin' Man
2 Commodores - Brick House
3 Bruce Springsteen - Born To Run
4 Paul Simon - Kodachrome
5 Rolling Stones - Brown Sugar
6 A Taste Of Honey - Boogie Oogie Oogie
7 Bee Gees - Night Fever
8 Stealers Wheel - Stuck In The Middle With You
9 Four Seasons - Who Loves You
10 Barry White - I'm Gonna Love You Just A Little More
11 Steve Miller Band - Rock'n Me
12 The Eagles - Hotel California
13 Alicia Bridges - I Love The Nightlife (Disco Round)
14 Robert Palmer - Bad Case Of Loving You
15 Steve Miller Band - The Joker
16 KC And The Sunshine Band - Get Down Tonight
17 Doobie Brothers - Long Train Runnin'
18 Elton John - Daniel
19 Jim Croce - Bad, Bad Leroy Brown
20 Bee Gees - Stayin' Alive

That's right... Every single song in this list charted in the '70's. In fact, the entire top 50 and then some consists of '70's tracks. The first song on the chart that appears outside that decade is Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" - at No. 63. The first '60's song on the list is The Beatles' "Come Together" at No. 67. The Beach Boys' "California Girls" is at No. 74. Naked Eyes' "Always Something There To Remind Me" at No. 84 leads off much more non 70's tracks.

Did CBS yank Paula and JJ off the air early after he mentioned his years at KISS 108? It was jockless the last 30 minutes.
