Likelihood of The View cancellation?

I know in Los Angeles, KABC will be replacing 'Millionaire' and 'Daytime Jeporday' with 'The F.A.B.' 'Millionaire' is already airing on Independent KDOC, which will most likely its last LA home.

Along the lines of what Bob is saying, I could see Millionaire running on both KABC (late nights after Nightline like the second episode currently does) and KDOC (daytime or early evening). The latter station does often second-run shows already seen on the other local stations...most notably "Seinfeld" and "Law & Order SVU".

Port Charles wasn't cancelled for Millionaire. Some stations used the opening for Millionaire, but it was cancelled because it couldn't make the grade, so to speak. As to Millionaire's future on WABC and WPVI, there is a less than zero chance of the newscasts getting trimmed back. If Millionaire remains at all on the stations, look for it to be a late-night clearance only. And look for this to be the final season of a nice long run for Millionaire in daytime.

I've wondered if Millionaire is on its way out. It isn't carried anywhere in Memphis any more, and was only recently added back in Jackson, TN on the startup of WNBJ NBC 39 (Which STILL isn't on Charter Cable ).

Either way, not an ideal situation by a long shot, and likely the end of the road. But it had a road that was longer than many shows that come and go in a flash, and there's nothing to be ashamed of about more than a decade on the air.

It's time to pull the plug. Nicole Wallace has been let go.

So as of now we have three hosts: Whoopi Goldberg, Raven Samone, and Michelle Collins. They said they were only gonna have 4 hosts and the 5th chair was going to be rotating between guest co-hosts including Candance Cameron and Sheri Sheppard. - If you're not going to cancel the show ditch that stupid rotating co-host idea and bring back Sheri Sheppard as permanent and bring back Joy Behar. Joy has filled in 3 times since she left the show.

It's time to pull the plug when the powers that be feel there's a better alternative than tinkering with things. With the transfer to ABC News may well have come some breathing room to experiment. Shows have up and down cycles, and it takes time and patience to find a good combination--look how long GMA was getting buried. They steadied the ship and became competitive again.

Maybe it won't happen here, maybe it will. But there's still a good reason to give it some more time to see what they can do with it.

Sherri Shepherd To Return To ‘The View’

I have learned that Sherri Shepherd has closed a deal to return to The View as a lead contributor for the upcoming 19th season. I hear she is expected to appear in about 50 episodes.

The addition of Shepherd is part of The View overhaul this summer as ABC News is looking to reignite the veteran daytime talk show to its former ratings glory after a turbulent 18th season, the first without co-creator Barbara Walters.

I had a golden opportunity this morning. I needed to make sure my new TiVo was recording properly this morning while the men from the cable company were still there. But somehow I couldn't get this show to come up when I was testing. Had it done so, I would have watched and given my opinion. Oh, well.

Joy Behar Returning As Co-Host Of ‘The View’

Joy Behar is returning as a co-host on The View when it returns for its 19th season, ABC News said today.

In the announcement, ABC News called Behar “one of the most-beloved personalities in the talk show’s history having co-hosted for seasons 1-16,” adding, “While equally at ease performing standup comedy or interviewing politicians and celebrities, Behar brings honesty, humor, irreverence, with an authentic and intelligent point of view on every topic.”

“Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in,” said Behar. “And I’m looking forward to sticking my two cents into the hot topics, especially now that Hillary and the Donald are in the spotlight.”

The show may endure a bit longer with the addition of Candace Cameron Bure and the fact that it likely is still is the black for ABC. Nicolle Wallace was just not very good.

Replace it with a revival of Supermarket Sweep to compete with TPIR. You could put it on a different timeslot so as not to compete directly with TPIR. Like flip The Chew and the slot currently occupied by The View.

KTRK has The View at 10 CT, 11 AM news, The Chew at Noon, Rachel Ray at 1PM, and GH at 2PM. Supermarket Sweep at 1PM would be a perfect timeslot since the other network shows on are CBS' The Talk and NBC's Days. 2PM would be too late and directly compete with Let's Make a Deal.

Another pricing game alternative to TPIR would be very nice.

I believe a new "Supermarket Sweep" would be better off with a timeslot 30 minutes in length rather than a timeslot 60 minutes in length.

Owning the chat audience (figuratively) vs splitting the game show audience....counter programming is the smarter play.

Two advertisers pull ads from The View

Johnson and Johnson along with Egg distributor Eggland's Best pulled their ads from the View following comments made about a Miss America contestant who did her routine as a nurse. First the nurses group called out two (or three members) of the View for their tasteless comments about the nursing profession. The loud mouths apologized the next day. Then these two sponsors pulled their ads. This may be the way to pull the blinds down on the View.
