I was looking at the WNYZ numbers.

Party is STILL ON 105.3 for almost 12 years, and has been playing hip-hop & dance music within their period of time. Either complain to the station and maybe you're lucky if they flip to YOUR NORMAL MUSIC just for you, or you can just suck it up and get over it, because 101.5 and 105.3 aren't flipping anytime soon.

Actually, the station has been quite mismanaged over time. Those who know me on here know I was a strong believer in putting the format on 92.7 when it was still WLIR.
The format has been tweaked at least a half a dozen times in the 12 years its been on, not to mention the total abandonment of the format during the Channel Casting disaster.
What's on now is a shell of the good idea in 1998... one that can end at a drop of the hat if something better comes along.

I gotta admit, wgli is right.
There was a period where the station was hip-hop/R&B, then they did that "channelcast" experiment on all of the TMO stations, that failed miserably. There was also that period where only Andre "The Dre Dog" was the only on-air personality there during the afternoons.
I also agree, when DJ Chris The Greek did the "Island Underground" show on 105.3 and WAS simulcasted to 92.7 along with certain dance tracks added on 'LIR, I was pushing for 'LIR to fully simulcast Party 105 there! That would have made sense at that time. The 92.7 signal in NYC may have been "spotty" at parts but it would have been better there than 87.7. But hey, Univision bought it for $50M and the rest is history.![]()

This is what I meant, say if TMO never sold 92.7 (as in decline the deal with Univisoin or never put 92.7 up for sale) and went with the decision to simulcast Party, and then ChannelCast was heard in NYC. Looking over from what I posted earlier, I thought I added if TMO never sold 92.7. I think that would've been more heat than the issue with 87.7, since in 04-05, there weren't as many choices as there is now, and the core fans were sick of KTU putting the classics in heavier rotation than the currents. I guess you can say my scenerio would be that Party would've thought twice to come back on 87.7 IF they were still owned by TMO today if that sell of 92.7 never happened. If it doesn't make sense, nevermind lol.
