I think EVERYBODY will be surprised when the ratings come out. With Lubbock being a test market for cell phone inclusion ANYTHING can happen...add the recent changes on top of that and you could see a total market re-alignment with the younger demo stations taking the lead.
that's the "Dream" of those stations who KNOW younger demo's have left radio in droves , but don't count on any drastic changes.
That's a very uninformed response. No one said stations with the "youngest" demos are going to surge.
hey bro, YOU DID! you wrote you could see "A TOTAL market re-alignment with the younger demo stations taking the lead....
But if you look at the age curve of people who use cell phones, your grandma is least likely to give up a land line, followed by your parents, followed by you, followed by your kids.
that may have been the thinking 5 or 10 years ago but not now, in a recent survey EVERYBODY including Grandma's had cell phones, so its not just teenagers.
Thus, bringing cell phones into the mix should result in some (maybe just a few) younger (just younger, not young) people reporting their listening (or not listening).
I know it's hard to read peoples attitudes in text, but you sound a bit like a radio "hater"...maybe you should be on some other board.
