Congratulations are in order for Mark--he won Best Talk Show Host honors last week at the AIR Awards. 8)
I agree wholeheartly with you on Ankarlo. I have never understood Ankarlo's appeal, either. Some of the stuff he use to do on the air, I never found amusing or humourous, such as he was eating cereral one morning on the air and judging but the crunch he made as he was eating, you had to guess what cereral he was eating. Imo, that showed he was not prepared for his show that morning and a lack of talent. I also found him very patronizing and seemed to TALK DOWN to listeners, like he was much smarter than the people that we listening to him.TheEvangelistofNews said:Good news! Mark will do well, I'm sure.
As for him filling in for Darrell Ankarlo--well, Mark is a much better host. Never got Ankarlo's appeal.
I wasn't saying that all 500 watt AM signals have weak signals, I was stating that of the stations Steve Gill's show airs in East Tennessee all are weak signal stations that do not have much coverage area. I know this for a fact because I grew up in East Tennessee and every station that his show air on there has very poor coverage.ROCKO11 said:You are right, jwk1979 doesn't know crap about AM. Sounds like a jock wanna be. It depends on the efficency of the tower, frequency, ground system, etc and a lot of factors on how good an AM station preforms. He's not an engineer.
I've seen flea powers of 5 watts go just as good as 250 watts on the high end of the AM dial. Just because a station is licensed at 500 watts doesn't mean it's signal isn't going far.
